Monday:  This morning each group was introduced to the letter of the week, Zz.  Group A practiced zipping using one of our Practical Life Montessori lessons, then brainstormed words beginning with the letter Zz.  Group B was introduced to the items in their letter box, also spent time brainstorming words beginning with the letter Zz, then practiced writing their names.  Kinder Blossom went on a hunt for items around the school that begin with Zz to put in their letter box.  This afternoon we made birthday cards for our friends who have birthdays this week; Kai, Kian and Tula will all be turning 3 this week! We then gathered in our circle time area for Musical Monday’s.  We had a special guest, Elise come in to play her Cello.  The Sunflowers all sat very quietly and listened to her play us many different songs.  Towards the end we all stomped our feet to keep the rhythm as she played.  She showed us the difference in sound between her using just her fingers to play and when she used her bow.

Tuesday:  Today is Kai’s 3rd birthday!  Happy birthday, Kai!  Group A played a game using zoo animals.  Group B painted pictures of animals they have seen at the zoo.  Kinder Blossom practiced writing the letter Zz.  This rainy afternoon we enjoyed playing in centers, yoga with Miss Vanessa, and a special birthday celebration for Kai.  We sang Happy Birthday and ate hummus and crackers he brought from home.

Wednesday: Today is Kian’s 3rd birthday!  Happy Birthday, Kian!! This rainy morning we worked inside all morning.  While we waiting for all of our friends to arrive to school we painted with water colors, ate snack, worked on puzzles, and listened to Miss Lizzie read us books.  During Montessori work time we had many friends aim their focus on puzzles.  We then broke up into small groups and listened to our friends explain what they brought for Show and Tell.  Genevieve brought zoo animals, Teo brought a zoo truck,  many friends brought zebras, Paislie brought a zester with an orange!  During lunch Miss Lizzie demonstrated how to use a zester and showed all the Sunflowers what the orange looked like after she used zester, she also showed the kiddos the thin pieces of orange.  Thanks Paislie!  This afternoon after nap we played with our Show and Tells.  We also gathered at the tables to celebrate Kian’s birthday! We ate cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday.  We then played in the Dramatic play and Construction center for the remaining of the afternoon.

Thursday:  This morning we jumped into Montessori work right away.  Teo and Asher foscued their attention to the Continent puzzles while Wren and Paislie read a Wildlife Book together discussing all the different plants, animals, and insects they saw in the book.  Ben, Miya and Addie worked together to build different structures using the Brown Stairs and the Pink Tower together.  They showed great ability to use cause and effect and teamwork to complete each structure.  During small group time Group A made zig zag tracks to roll cars and trains down.  This afternoon we enjoyed Chinese.  All the Sunflowers are very focused and eager to learn new songs in Chinese.  They have caught on very quickly to the songs Mrs. Sughi has already taught them.

Friday:  Dom and I stepped into the baby room to teach today due to family emergencies.  Mr. Logan stepped in the Primary room to teach with Miss Arielle.  All the classes had outside drop offs this morning and began the day with a community dance party.  Miss Toni came outside for a presentation of our Community Project this week.  The Toddler class wanted to make flowers for the Austin fire department’s visit we are having this month.
