Hooray for the Rain!

What a fabulous day we had here in the Primary room!  We started our day outside playing with the hula hoops, practicing actions we can do with our bodies.  When Miss Lizzie would say under, thru, over, or beside the kiddos would do that action with their hula hoop!  Once we came inside and ate snack it was time for show and tell!  Everyone brought such different and interesting objects from home today! All the kiddos sat so patiently and showed an immense about of respect for their friends who were informing the others about what they had brought.  This week we have really been talking about respect, what it means and how we show respect to each other.  Miss Lizzie put together a birthday board for all of our friends to see their birthdays.  During snack we discussed how many months are in a year, we also discussed what each kiddos birthday was.  All our friends were very eager to know what month they were born in and if any of their friends shared the same birthday month.  We stayed inside today before lunch today because of all the rain clouds. YAY!!  The kiddos were very content drawing in the art center and building in the construction center. Tristan drew a strawberry patch while Leina, Mo, Paige and Colette took the time to draw beautiful rainbows and sunshine.  (We will be putting a file folder under the parents board for all the beautiful art work the kiddos make so they can take it home each day!:) Caden and Miya decided they wanted to explore in the construction center. Miya helped Colette build houses for the animals while Caden made patterns with the different shaped blocks! Tristan was very interested in the measuring tape; he was counting the numbers he saw as he measured objects of different sizes around the room. The biggest object was Mr. Nick! During lunch we had a conversation about table manners.  Each kiddo spoke about the table manners they have and how they like it when the other people they are eating with show good table manners as well.  We had Spanish with Mrs. Leona today, we continued our lessons with the alphabet.  Today we colored and cut out pictures of objects beginning with the letter C and glued them on a heart after we sang and danced to songs about rain!  All of the kiddos are really conquering their fine motor skills as we practice using scissors.  As we were cutting we talked about how we use scissors, and how to keep our own and our friend’s bodies safe.  Once everyone was finished making their creations for Spanish, we continued to play in our classroom because of all the rain we were getting! YIPPEE!!!  We hope everyone has a great night! See you tomorrow!
