Ice Won't Slow Us Down (January 4)

Friday was a cold one, we stayed inside for drop off and many of our friends even kept their jackets on inside. We read stories and did some alphabet games while we waited for everyone to get here. Even though we started snack as soon as we opened it was still later than normal due to opening at ten. We had a lot of oranges and bananas for snack and everyone was still hungry so we passed out some Cheerios which seemed to do the trick.
After snack half of our friends worked in centers and the other half decorated balloons with different faces, that is until nick broke the balloon pump. The energy in the room was very calm and focused before lunch and everyone did a great job keeping the demeanor of the class room calm even though we couldn't go outside.
Sandy stepped into the classroom today as a sub for Lizzie, and had a great time with the primary kids.
After lunch and story time everyone slept until almost three except Rhys and Maggie who hung out with sandy and nick making little people out of paper towel rolls.
Once everyone was up and had snack, again half of our kids works in the centers while the other half went outside with nick and played music on the deck until they wanted to come back in. We took the big circle drum out side and we also have a music wall will all kinds of musical instruments tied to it. Once our drop off time came around we all went next door and played with the toddlers which was really fun for everyone because all of the toddlers toys seemed brand new to our primary class.
It was a very fun day even though we only got to go outside for a few minutes the whole day.
