Monday:  This morning during drop offs our early arrivers helped Dom make weather jars for the classroom.  They made a snow jar, a sunny jar, a rain jar, and a cloudy jar.  After circle time we broke up into groups and all 3 groups were still exploring the new Montessori works we out last week.  During small group time all 3 groups were introduced to the letter of the week, Gg.  Group A read the G Book and wrote down words beginning with Gg.  Group B brainstormed words beginning with Gg and discovered what items were in the Gg box.  We then made galaxies using glue, and glitter.  They all turned out awesome.  Kinder Blossom went on a Gg hunt around the school for items to put in their Gg box.  This afternoon we enjoyed Centers and and Art project of coloring coffee filters with markers then spraying them with water to create a stained glass affect.

Tuesday:  Group A made grapes in the vine using purple paint. Group B practiced writing their names and also made grapes using purple paint and corks, stamping the corks on paper to create their grapes.  Kinder Blossom practiced writing the letter Gg.  This afternoon Miss Ann joined us for yoga because Miss Vanessa was sick.  We sang songs and played ‘Ring around the Yogi’.  We also practiced Yoga poses using a partner.  All the Sunflower’s really love practicing their poses a partner.

Wednesday:  Today is Asher’s 4th birthday! Happy birthday, Ashy!  This morning all groups enjoyed Show and Tell.  Group A also made sensory bags using hair gel, food coloring, and glitter.  Group B made gum ball machines using felt circle but outs for the gum balls.  This afternoon after nap we enjoyed playing with our Show and Tell items.  We then gathered at the table for a birthday celebration for Asher.  We ate Vegan cupcakes and sang Happy Birthday.  He then requested to play on the deck to continue the celebration.

Thursday:  During small group time Group A discussed the items in their letter box.  Group B practiced writing the letter Gg.  We also made gumball machines!  They turned out super cute and are hanging on top of their hooks where their backpacks live.  Kinder Blossom played a math bingo game.  This afternoon we decorated popsicle sticks with beads to make frames.  We also enjoyed Chinese class.

Friday:  This fabulous Friday afternoon we had some very special visitors from the Austin Fire Department come with their truck for a presentation.  The entire Sprout’s sat in the backyard to ask a fire fighter questions, we then took turns getting in the fire truck!  The Sprout’s LOVED their special visitors.  We were also very excited to present the firefighters with flowers we made them last week!
