Magical Miércoles (Wednesday)

Today started off with our friends teaching nick how to hoola hoop. Leina kept it going the longest, almost 10 seconds. We also had a surprise visitor, Teddy, Toni's 7 pound terrier. The kids tried their best but couldn't catch him. After about ten minutes of this it was time to head inside and begin our day. The friends who werent here on Tuesday made sock puppets with Nick, and our friends who already had one made went with Lizzie and decorated the first letter of their names with beans and other crafting materials. Some friends wanted to perfect their puppet skills and made another one, then everyone headed over to the writing center to decorate their letter. Sock puppets and letters actually took longer than we thought and we used all the time we had for inside activities. With a quick game of Simon says to help clean up we headed outside. Today all our friends wanted nick to play hide and seek, which actually turned into chase nick for 20 minutes. On the very last round he hid near the entrance to the pre tots room just to get a break. With nick crippled everyone headed inside for lunch and then nap. One of the duties our friends have is picking the nap story, this week Paige has that responsibility. Once Lizzie finished reading the story, feeling unsatisfied, Paige chose another.
Our friends who don't sleep or woke up early practices worksheets until all our friends had woken up. Following snack we had a great Spanish lesson, we started with their favorite song, the wakeup song. They get to sing quietly and use bells to wake their friends who are pretending to be asleep. Spanish is fun because we use a lot of interactive material to keep everyone engaged. Our friends who's attention wanders quickly can easily sit through songs in which we use drumsticks or maracas to keep the beat. After our official Spanish time had ended, we coloured Spanish worksheets, once finished or bored with those our friends were free to find an independent interest in the room until our outside pickup time. Caden, Paige, and Rhys's main focus where the blocks which have had fallen out of popularity until today. With a rather quick cleanup we headed outside to conclude our day
