Mixing Colors on Monday

Good afternoon parents! We certainly hope everyone had a great weekend! We started the morning outside with it finally feeling like Fall YAY!  While outside Leina and Maya wanted to come in to gather paper and crayons to draw pictures while we were outside! What a great idea! All of our friends gathered on the playscape and drew amazing pictures!  Colette, Miya, Tristan, Maya, Leina and Zoey all shared the crayons very well together also sharing the space on the playscape so everyone had enough room to draw.  Once we finished up we then went into the sun to warm up with a cuddle puddle on the blanket.  While we were on the blanket Colette wanted to roll down the hill. Everyone saw how much fun she was having and quickly joined in to laugh and roll down the hill as well! Once Nick joined us outside we headed in for snack.

During snack we changed our names on the Helper Chart.  Tristan is our line leader this week, Zoey is our Caboose, Rhys is our count off helper, Miya is our water filler, Maya is our story picker, Paige is our compost helper, Colette is our nap mat helper, Leina is our calendar helper, and Dax 

When all of our friends finished snack we gathered on the carpet for a short circle time so we would have plenty of time for Show and Tell!  All the kiddos brought in very cool items!  Tristan brought in his magnefined glass, Zoey brought in lip gloss shaped like lips,  Leina brought her new strawberry lip gloss, Miya brought in a Pirate sword, Rhys brougth a ship from Star Wars, Dax brought in a Transformer, Maya brought 2 pictures she made over the weekend, Paige showed us a letter she wrote to her mom, and Colette showed us a butterfly wing she found outside Green Sprout! 

Because Show and Tell lasted so long, when we finished up it was already time to go back outside before lunch.  While outside Leina gathered all the girls under the dome for a story!  All the girls listened very intently as Leina told the story.  Rhys, Tristan and Dax made birthday cakes in the sand box.  Colette found a stick and was drawing on the sand on the bench by the sandbox! All the kiddos were hungry and very ready for lunch.

During lunch we all discussed what we had done over the weekend.  IT sounds like everyone had a very fun filled weekend!  We also went around and everyone shared what item in their lunch was their favorite. We all worked together to clean out table and put up lunches while Maya picked out a book for us to ready together before nap time.

After our story we went to our nap mats to lay down and rest our bodies.  This afternoon after snack we all participated in an art project.  We discussed color mixing.  We talked about the 3 primary colors and what colors you can mix to make a new color. We experimented with a clear cup of water with the 2 different colors to try and guess what other color they would make.  We then put food coloring on a piece of paper and blew with straws to make the colors mix and watch what colors we can make!  All the kiddos really enjoyed watching the colors mix and discovering what happens when you mix two certain colors.
 

Once we all finished our art project we gathered on the carpet to write down our 'Daily Note'.  The Shining Star's are all very eager to talk about their day and which specific part was their favorite! We really had a great day to start off another week! See you all tomor
