Monster Mash Friday!

What a fabulous Friday we had!! This morning we had a cuddle puddle outside to stay warm with Miss Lizzie and Mrs. Jackie on the blanket.  All the kiddos loved keeping each other warm! Once all of our friends arrived we went inside for snack and discussed what we wanted to carve our pumpkin into.  We decided on a Kitty Cat! :)

When we finished snack Nick cut the top off our pumpkin and we each had a turn taking the seeds and "guts" out of the pumpkin.  The kiddos weren't really sure if they wanted to touch the "guts" until Miss leina just jumped right into it.  The kiddos saw her and decided they wanted to touch and smell it as well.  We saved all the seeds to make pictures with them as well as cooking them so everyone can try pumpkin seeds!

When we went back outside before lunch Miss Lizzie carved our pumpkin into a Kitty Cat!!  The kiddos were very intrigued watched Miss Lizzie and her pumpkin carving skills :)

During lunch Miss Toni came in to chat with us about our awesome decorations that Miya brought in for our classroom! We all thanked Miya and discussed where we wanted to hang all the decorations.

After nap time and snack we stayed at the table so we could make collages out of ghosts, pumpkins, and spiders!  Once we were done with this art project Mrs. Jackie came in with her guitar to sing songs and do a special project with us!  We sang Halloween songs and danced to the magical music Mrs. Jackie was singing to us.  We then made monsters with potatoes, food coloring, candy eyes and carrots! HOW COOL!  Mrs. Jackie sang "The Monster Mash' and we mashed our monsters to the song!  All the kiddos really got into and LOVED hearing a new song about Monsters!

We then washed our hands and got ready to go outside for afternoon pickup!  Everyone really got int he spirit of Halloween today!!
