Playdate with the Pre-Tots

We started our day inside again this morning due to the weather.  Miss Lizzie, Leina, and Colette hung out in the Pre-Tot room for most of morning drop off.  Colette immediately wanted to ride the rocking horse!  She demonstrated to the Pre-Tots how to get on and off of the horse safely.  We then brought out the instruments to sing songs.  Leina and Colette took turns playing the saxophone and the xylophone while Lizzie played the piano.  Olive and Ancel joined in on the fun and shook the maracas!  I have to say our band sounded pretty good!  Paige arrived and we then got ready for snack, helping our little friends clean up their room.  We all sat down and ate apples and bananas.  Once we all finished snack we headed out to the deck to make snow!!  While we were marching to the deck, Jasper and Joey joined us.  We gathered around the sensory table while Miss Lizzie made the snow.  She used baking soda and water and the kiddos used their hands to make snow flakes!  All the kiddos really enjoyed the texture of the fake snow.  The girls loved making snow balls to throw in the air while singing jingle bells!  Colette even made up her very own winter song she sang while playing with the snow.  We moved our fun to the backyard because it was time for the infants to take their morning nap. On the playground we discovered green and red bows everywhere!  The girls decided they wanted to decorate the house for the holidays.  They first used chalk to "paint" the house, then stuck the bows all over the outside of the house.  While the girls were busy decorating, Jasper and Joey were playing catch.  They sure know how to throw a ball!  Jasper then wanted to hit the ball like he was playing baseball. Joey directed his attention to the lego table where he found Winnie the Pooh and Tigger!  We were having so much fun with our holiday activities outside we looked at the clock and it was already time for lunch!
