Research Trip To Aquarena

Today was our field trip to Aquarena in San Marcos!  We had an absolute BLAST!

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all the parents that came with us to share the fun times!

We started off our tour in the Aquarium looking.  The kiddos loved looking at all the fish close up and pointing out all the turtles and fish.  Our tour guide Topher then led us to the glass bottom boat to explore the Springs.  The kiddos kept pointing out that the sand was moving, Topher explained that it was moving because of the springs at the bottom water was coming from to fill the lake.  Some kiddos thought the water looked dirty but Topher explained it is actually very clean and that’s why we could see to the very bottom which at some points reached down over 20 feet! We saw many turtles, fish, and even a gar (which was very rare).  Topher then drove us over giant boulders, he then explained that in this part of the Spring divers have found arrow heads,
