Snow Flakes are Falling!

Hola!  Today in the Shining Stars we had an absolutely fabulous day!  Miss Cate was our substitute for Nick today because it was his birthday! Happy Birthday Nick!!  We came inside early for snack so that we had plenty of time to eat and chat about our weekends before Kinder Blossom and Show and Tell.  For Show and Tell Dax showed us his Spider Man puzzle, Miya brought in Snoopy that sings and dances, Rhys brought in a fire truck, Tristan brought a radio that sings several different songs.  We sang Old McDonald and Itsy Bitsy Spider with the radio!  Colette brought in cookies she made shaped like Minnie Mouse!  She was so sweet to bring enough for us to enjoy this afternoon after snack.  Leina brought in many bracelets she said she only wears on special occasions, Maya brought two light up toys; one of which she got from her Aunt from California.  Zoey brought a zebra hat and Paige brought a balloon animal of a monkey on a banana she received from a clown this past weekend.  Once we finished up with Show and Tell we transitioned our attention to centers.  Colette immediately found our counting game.  She did a great job identifying the different numbers and placing the certain number of beads on each number.  Paige dressed up bears in many different outfits.  Dax, Rhys, and Tristan went to the construction center to build towers and used the tools to fix certain parts of the towers that were broken.  They really showed an immense amount of teamwork to build the highest tower they could.  Miya enjoyed mixing colored water to make new colors.  Colette, Paige, Dax and Miya then decided they wanted to explore in the Practical Life center.  Colette made dinner for Dax, Paige, and Miya.  Once our friends came back from Kinder Blossom we cleaned up centers and headed outside to play before lunch.  While we were outside we played a game using different colored blocks and hula hoops.  Each hula hoop was designated for a certain color block.  The kiddos ran around the playground to search for the certain color and put it in the hoops.  They really loved searching for the certain color because they had to dig for some of the colors!  We headed inside for lunch and chatted about our new jobs we have for the week.  The kiddos really shine in each and every classroom responsibility.  After nap we had a quick snack and cleaned up for our afternoon art project.  We made a collage with snowflakes and tie die paint.  Each kiddo placed their snowflake on the poster board, and then sprayed the colors on the snowflake; when we lifted up the snowflake they discovered there was a snowflake outline on our poster!! HOW COOL!  We then washed hands, put on our shoes, and headed to the deck to enjoy the cookies Colette so graciously shared with us!  We then headed out to the big playground to run around release tons of energy!
