Thursday started off with a great surprise, we had two friends from the toddler class join us. Joey and Jasper gave our class a test drive for the day. We came inside and Leina and Paige immediately helped Joey and Jasper with putting shoes up, where we wash hands and where our bowls are for snack. Leina showed Jasper how we count out the amount of fruit we put in our bowls while Colette helped Joey. Once we were done with snack we have to wash our own bowls in the wash buckets. Again, our friends showed our new guests how to do this task.
Following snack we had a quick circle time and went over our calendar and weather, Joey was the first one to answer what day we were on with absolute confidence. We finished circle time with a beat game and opened up the class room for the kids to explore one last time before we changed the material. The three girls Leina, Colette, and Paige got to use our giant art set full of new markers, oil pastels, pencils, and even paints. This is a special set so we took great care to put everything back where we found it. Joey and Jasper worked together making shapes and lines with different colors at a table of their choosing. Everyone was very content with their art projects so we took all of our time inside to finish them. When it was time to go outside our older friends again helped escort our toddlers to the shoe rack and the carpet by the door for our count off and then outside. We had a lot of fun with our new friends outside. It's normally just the primary class during this time, so our two new faces were something of a celebrity and their attention was coveted on the playground. Ending our outside exploration meant it was lunch time. It was a very quiet lunch for some reason, possibly because our new additions just wanted to observe their surroundings. Joey and Jasper had no trouble falling asleep in their new room. And upon waking were ready for snack and some milk. While Leina went to kinder blossom at 2:30, our friends where just waking up, so we read a few stories until everyone was up and ready for snack. Thursday is our last day of Spanish for the week and Jasper made the most of it. He danced with all his enthusiasm while everyone else sang the songs. Joey would be interested in one song and not another and would go check out the library when he didn't like a song. It was a very good day with our two toddler friends and we hope to have another visit soon.
