We have had such a great two weeks having Wyatt in our Primary Classroom! He will be enrolling at new school starting next month and has had such a wonderful 2 years at the Sprout! We are so happy that we have been able to share his kind and playful energies that he brings to this community!

We started our day off with a great community drop off in our backyard! We headed in for a delicious AM snack. The sprouts were extra pleased with the choices! We had blackberries, apricots, and bananas. We then headed over to the carpet where we stripped the calendar of all its labels and numbers and put them into a "calendar ocean" in the middle of the carpet. Friends then all took turns finding pieces and and identifying where on the calendar they go! It was a lot of fun for them to see the finish product! We had great morning stretches and quick meditation then transitioned right into classroom exploration time. We placed a collection of beads, charms, and letters in the middle of the table and a good size group of friends decided they wanted to string these items onto a elastic stretchy string! Some friends turned their strings into bracelets and necklaces while Mo made a ket chain for her lunch box! She was so proud that she decided to walk around with her lunch box showing each of her friends how the key chain actually made it much easier to zip open the lunch box!
We added a basket of magnets the construction area and many of friends took an interest into these pieces. Mia and Paige used them to make a long road and were very focussed and making it as straight as possible.
We then went out to the backyard for a lunch time picnic. Our friends have been requesting these picnics daily as we have observed they really like being in charge of where they get to sit outside! Some friends strongly prefer the blanket while some like to sit out the top of the playscape to "help keep watch over friends foods."

We went in after for some winding down and story telling followed by a great nap time! After nap we had our Thursday show and tell. This is such a great time for friends to lead in group conversations and a great way for friends to build stronger connections to life outside of the classrooms.

After nap, Nick stopped by for another visit.( It is really sweet that even on his days off he wants to stop in for hugs) Wyatt got extra snuggles from Nick and was happy to tell him about the special treats he brought to share with his class. Wyatt went around the table handing out strawberry popsicles and got very kind thank you and hugs in return. Sprouts enjoyed their treat while having Spanish Class with Leona. What a great way to end our day!

Peace and Love
Toni
