The Letters "Gg", "Oo", and "Uu"!! (March 24-28)

MONDAY:
During Montessori work time, Hank worked on the "Tree" puzzle, manipulating pieces to fit, Byron worked with magnets, figuring out the negative and positive sides, while Dax and Asher worked on the Teen Bead Hangers, Dax with the 11-20 numbers, and Asher with 1-10.
Dom's group started this week with the letter "Gg", brainstorming words that began with the letter,
Lizzies group introduced letters "Oo" and "Uu", and practiced writing it in their notebooks. Kinder Blossom also introduced the same letters, brainstormed words and went on a field trip for items for the Letter boxes.
TUESDAY:
During Montessori work time, Jasper, Miya, Ben and I worked on the South America Puzzle. I distributed the pieces to them and they each took turns figuring out where it went and the name of the city they had just placed down. It was a great lesson, as we practiced using our fine motor skills, and name recognition of the continents and there cities.
Doms group continued with words and sounds for the letter "Gg", while Lizzies group started their Octopus Art, and Kinder Blossom practiced writing and tracing the letter "Oo", and identifying items  that start with the letter.

WEDNESDAY:
I apologize for the shortage of pictures today.

We had a special visit from Ms Toni today, she took a couple of friends at a time outside to help pick up trash, and do exercises in the parking lot. While Lizzie and I had our friends in the back helping with our garden and newly potted plants.

Ms Daphne joined us for Spanish in the afternoon, before we made our way outside!

THURSDAY:
We started Thursday indoors, due to the weather, with some new Montessori works on our practical life shelf! Jasper worked with the buttons and string, stringing it through and making different designs. Addie worked with the magnetic letters, spelling the words, Go, Owl, and Us on a cooking sheet. Dax worked with the lacing shoe, working on his fine motor skills, while Olive and Miya exercised their fine motor and pouring skills.

During Doms group, we traced the upper and lower case Gg with Glue, and sprinkled Green and Gold Glitter on them, Lizzies group worked on their Octupus', painting paper plates and gluing on pipe cleaners, while Ms Liz took over kinder blossom, due to Arielle out sick, but they all helped Liz pick up where they left off :)

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon of Spanish :)

FRIDAY:
As always, we started this Friday with Dance Party and a fun outdoor community activity! We decorated our newly sprouted tree limbs with dangling Gold decorative balls, adding them high and low, and enjoying their reflection.
We had a nice morning picnic outside, before beginning our art project. With Spring here, we painted Suns on paper plates and hung them around the playground, displaying our art for our Afternoon Potluck!
For our cooking class, Mr Mike came in and gave groups a tour of his food truck bus, Thrilled Cheese! After getting off of the truck, Ben, Dax, and Asher ran up to the top of the play scape, and told Arielle, "We are in the food truck, What would you like to order?"! Soon Everyone was "making and ordering" grilled cheese sandwiches as we enjoyed the afternoon and our Spring Fling Potluck!

XO
Dom-Dom
