Monday: Everyone arrived in great spirits, checking out all the cool new stuff Sophie and her mom donated before her last day at Green Sprout!
Group A discussed the letter L, and words that start with the letter L. Many friends named favorite animals and bugs, LADYBUG, LION, LIZARD :)
Group 2 discussed vacations, and ways of traveling to and from places when on vacation. Many friends brought up AIRPLANES, TRAINS, and CARS.
Kinder Blossom talked about vacations and transportation as well, listing and spelling certain
vehicles that they thought of.
after nap, Group 2 (colette, addie, miya, jasper, wren) joined Ms Liz for yoga before we headed outside to end the day.
TUESDAY:  Olive, Paislie, Addie, and Ivy started the day, reclining in their new "sun chairs", collecting different items to build something with them.

during Montessori hour, Addie found the Pressure Cylinders,
while ivy worked on the Tree Puzzle, one of her favorites.  Miya and Addie decided to work on the transferring water work, focusing on the water to avoid any spills. Teo found the Knobbed Cylinders, while Asher practiced using a push pin, and a picture to try to "cut out".  Olive worked on a new work, which involved magnetic vs. non-magnetic objects, while Joey found the hole puncher work, and made "confetti" using the hole puncher and scraps of paper.

Group A went on a Nature walk, Looking for Leaves, for our Leaf Art! They collected Leaves in buckets, and also Looked for Ladybugs! We then came in to work on our Leaf Art, which the kids enjoyed gluing their Leaves to their paper!
Group 2 checked out their newly decorated corner, filled with pictures and art work by them!

After nap, we had our family meeting/secret sack. Then broke up into centers/art/snack. Ms Arielle drew up 2 different types of cars for my friends to decorate, they colored them, then added glitter and their own little touch, before we tacked them to our map!
We talked about all the different cars that are on the road, and about their windows, doors, and especially the wheels!
WEDNESDAY:
Each group met, and had Show N Tell. Group 1 went around and talked about what they brought, Paislie brought a net, which she said she used to catch butterflies and Ladybugs. Teo and Asher brought a truck and fire engine, while Olive and Ivy picked something from the classroom.
During our outside time, painted different pictures of transportation vehicles, each friend excited about their favorite!
After nap, we worked on our Beach/Ocean Diorama, adding sand and shells. We then joined Ms Daphne for Spanish.
THURSDAY:
Before starting Splash day, we went in for a group snack, and some Montessori work time, Paislie found the number puzzle, while Addie worked on another new lesson, which was organizing items, by Small, Medium, and Large. Asher found the other new lesson, sorting washers and bolts, from smallest to largest, using a magnetic stick, which he focused and enjoyed very much.
We met the other classrooms outside for Splash Day, which everyone loved!

After Nap, Ms Daphne joined us for Spanish, where they practiced on the iPad, putting together a puzzle of a mouth, nose, ears, and eyes.
FRIDAY:  We started outside for Dance Party and Splash day! but before, all my early birdies - Joey, Finn, Miya, Asher, Julia, Teo, and Olive - all helped me open, shovel, and spread mulch around the playground. They all worked together to transport mulch into the wheelbarrows and Teo and Asher made their way to areas to dump the mulch. Great Helpers! :) Splash day was a huge success, and friends figured out different ways to manipulate water!

After nap, as we headed outside, we noticed Mr Nick working on something interesting. He was drilling holes into a piece of wood, then screwing on the corresponding nut or bolt. everyone was in amazement, and watched carefully as Nick drilled.

What a great week!

XO
Dom-Dom
