We had a very relaxing day today in the Primary Class.  We started off our day outside waiting for all of our friends to arrive.  While on the playground, Leina, Miya and Paige played hide and seek with Nick.  We also took the time to water the garden with Lizzie and play with the younger kiddos in the sandbox.  We extended our outside time this morning because we were just having so much fun in the cool morning weather.
On our way inside we found Mo and decided to take some time to look at the glowing stars and planets that Collette's mom gave us!  During snack time we continued to talk about our feelings and what makes us happy, sad, mad, and frustrated. Nick and Lizzie made faces to express different feelings having the kiddos guess what they were feeling by their facial expressions.  Once we ate up all our bananas and grapes, we washed our bowls and got ready for our morning art project.
Everyone had so much fun painting a collage of people, places and things that make them happy, sad, scared,  or surprised.   We used one big piece of paper, practicing sharing space with our friends.  All the kiddos were very eager to talk about and listen to their friends descriptions of their pictures.  While we let our collage dry we enjoyed some free time in our learning centers.  Miya had a blast acting as if she was a scuba diver! She found goggles and a hose in the Science center to swim around our classroom.
Once we got outside again we discovered the toddler class had brought out streamers!  Everyone was super excited to run, spin and dance with different colored streamers.  Paige, Leina, and Mo really enjoyed going down the slide with the streamers waving in the wind beside them, Miya and Caden quickly joined in on the fun.  Leina had a fabulous idea which was to decorate the playscape with the streamers!  Once she told her friends her idea everyone was eager to help her.
Since we had such a small class today we decided it was a good idea to stay outside and have a family picnic to enjoy our lunches.
Once we came inside we quickly laid down on our mats because everyone had played so hard this morning we were all ready to rest our bodies.  After a quick story,  Nearly everyone was half asleep.
When we woke up from nap, folded our mats, and enjoyed our afternoon snack, we decorated presents for our birthday wall!  We used construction paper, stickers, and markers to make each present special.
Mrs. Leona joined us once again for Spanish class today.  During Spanish we played BINGO using Spanish words!  We also sang a sleepy song in Spanish.  All the kiddos are really picking up on all the songs and nearly know all the words to them!
We ended our afternoon outside with all of our friends from other classes.  All in all everyone had a fantastic day here at Green Sprout! See you tomorrow!
