Today was one of my favorite days at GS. All of our friends who have tough drop offs quickly participated in all of our group activities. We had fewer numbers of kiddos than normal and it being Jette's last week we decided to play a few of their favorite games. On the top of the list was musical chairs. Requests for something fast led us to dubstep as the musical entertainment. Wyatt and Miaya were fearless as they chose to go in the opposite direction as the rest of the class. The first game came down to Maggie and Zoë, each one never taking their eyes off the person controlling the music. The battle ended with Zoë as the last remaining  contestant. With both girls content with their performance, they opted to find other things to play with instead of joining for a second round. Some entrepreneurs decided that running a gas station and selling gas to the friends who were scooting around in the fisher price cars on the deck would be a better use of their time than musical chairs. So our numbers for the second round diminished  by nearly half. That did not stop Jette's determination. At the onset he said "I'm just going to try and win" and by the end it was down to just Nick and him. Once the music stopped nick swears he won and so did Jette, so we called it a tie and headed inside for a double feature story.
We had lunch inside and it was very relaxed and mellow. Everyone seemed very content staying in their seats and talking to their neighbor instead of shouting across the room. We have a water station set up where the children can fill their own water bottles, while it is efficient most of the times there are sometimes mishaps. After all the lunches were put away we transitioned into nap time after a little lion king and a quick appearance by the sea monster (nick) that is.
Cassandra brought a selection of national geographics we flipped through with the aim to find someone we felt resembled us and write a sentence about how they relate to us.
We ended our time inside with a stint of yoga. The kids always are focused and love it when Casi instructs the class, then a quick map rolling lesson and we were outside for some fun in the sun.
