We Love the Rain!!

This Thursday was full of excitement, sharing, learning, teamwork, and moral support!  This morning on the playground we all had a great time practicing our climbing skills on our new dome climber.  All the kiddos really do a great job encouraging each other to try their best climbing the dome!  All the kiddos really support each other and give pointers they use to reach the top of the climber.  Watching all the kiddos support each other in so many ways bring so much joy to my heart!  Once we all climbed for while we decided it was time to play in the sandbox.  Leina, Miya, and Lizzie played as if we were in the car going on a road trip!  We sang songs together and pointed out objects and animals we saw as we were traveling to our destination, which was Target. :)  Once all of our friends arrived today Leina asked if we could have snack outside which was a great idea!  We all gathered on the play-scape to enjoy our delicious apple slices.  We returned inside to have circle time and show and tell.  Caden brought in a bear that had a hoody on that said 'You Are Special", how appropriate considering our theme for the week!  Leina showed us stones that you could look through and see everything in a different color!  Miya brought a heart shaped magnet with a dolphin inside! Colette showed us a card she made to give to a special someone! Paige brought in a blue trick or treat basket with stickers on it that she graciously shared with all of her friends!  During circle time we also talked about the weather, the seasons.  We also continued to chat about our theme for the week.  We played a guessing game at circle time called 'Who Am I?' Each person had a turn to describe a person in our class; giving clues about the person such as "I am i girl who is wearing...",  The other kiddos really enjoyed guessing who each person was thinking about. After everyone had a turn, we focused our attention to center time.  All the girls flocked towards arts and crafts.  Caden and Lizzie spent time in the construction center stacking blocks and playing with the animals.  During this time all the kiddos noticed a sound we hadn't heard at Green Sprout in awhile; it was raining!!! YAY!!  Everyone immediately went to the windows to watch the rain fall from the sky!  Miya, Paige and Caden then decided they wanted to go to the math center.  Miya practiced making patterns with different colors while Caden and Paige read certain numbers and put that many eggs by the numbers.  This afternoon Mrs. Leona graced us with her presence for Spanish class!  The munchkins were super excited because we didn't have Spanish yesterday due to her daughter being sick.  Once we sang our favorite songs in Spansish we headed to the table for an art project, we found magazine clippings and made our very own puzzle! HOW COOL!! Once we all cleaned up our areas we headed outside for afternoon pick up.
