Weed wacking Wednesday
Today started with a little green thumb action. We pulled up our spring and summer garden to make way for our new fall garden we will be planting on Sunday. Leina took control of the situation and made quick work of the former cantaloupe plants. Dax and Tristan tag teamed the strawberry plants which we never did see any fruit from. All the former plants were taken to the compost via wheelbarrow. All of our friends who wanted to participate where given gloves before the work started, however halfway through most of the gloves became a distraction or were discarded. After pulling as many plants as we could the discarded gloves were rediscovered and miss Jackie and mr Nick were tasked with blowing them up into hand balloons. After a few activities with the balloons we headed inside for a quick snack and circle time. Most of the morning was dedicated to the garden so once again our inside time for the morning ran short so we played a few quick games like I-spy and Simon says and it was already time for lunch. Following lunch all of our friends lined up at the door and waited for mr nick to hand them their nap mats to lay out. Everyone seems to like the responsibility of being in charge of their mats and unrolling it themselves. Dax is our story picker for the week so he chose a very big book about animals which was a big hit because they got to make sounds that all the animals made, Colette's bear sound was similar to a kitten but fierce non the less. After nap we all woke up and had a delicious snack of avocado, bell peppers, and yellow tomatoes. We had another talk about responsibilities at school so we spent some time doing our school duties like spraying our class room plants with water bottles, sweeping the floor with dust pans, washing our bowls after snack, and picking up the library. If there is a big job like there was in the library (a lot of the magnetic letters were on the floor) our friends like to use teamwork to get the job done. Once our duties were finished it was time for Spanish class. All the kids love Spanish because they get to jump and move around to a lot of the songs. By now everyone has a the dances to the songs down to a T. After our 30 minutes of Spanish we headed outside to finish our day for outside pick up
