It was a great, hands on week we had! From introducing our newest Montessori materials (which they were so excited to work with and were super gentle J), to rolling marbles around in white paint to make “Spider webs”, to smashing our sweet potatoes to make mashed! Monday: We introduced our first set of Montessori Materials. Toni led circle time, and everyone had a chance to touch, look, and practice using. We introduced sound boxes, the pink tower, the brown stair, Sand Paper Letters, and many, many more. Tuesday: Ms Toni led circle time, as we discussed classroom helpers, and read a book beafore heading outside. We also celebrated, Adelines 4th birthday, with a yummy mix of fruit! It was extra special, cause we celebrated out on the deck and invited our toddler friends to join in! Wednesday: Some of my friends favorite day, since it is “Show ‘N Tell”, and many friends take the time to look for something they want to show their friends! My sunglasses were my show and tell, and they were a big hit! Thursday: Today was Secret Sack, which my friend Colette brought in! We also worked on some Halloween Art, making spiders with our hand prints, and spider webs, by rolling a marble around a box, with white paint on black paper. They all came our so unique! Friday: Dance Party/Cooking Project Friday. We had a lovely school picnic outdoors, as the weather was just amazing. Many friends got busy helping me plant more in the two gardens, while other friends searched Hi and Low for roly polys, and bugs of other types! In the Afternoon, we made Mashed Sweet Potatoes. I gave my friends wax paper, a couple of squares of sweet potato, and a little scoop of vegan butter, and told them to smash away. Many friends were reluctant at first, saying “we don’t like sweet potato”, but after mashing them, some friends seemed to change their mind! J **"Montessori believed it was important to first present materials to children so they may see how to correctly approach the work and thus provide them an opportunity to succeed at it. "Don't let a child risk failure until he has experienced success." ~Maria Montessori
