What a Wonderful Wednesday!

Greetings Green Sprout! We have had such a wonderful day here in the Primary class full of laughter and learning! We started our day out on the playground greeting all of our friends as they arrived to school.  Ms. Toni brought out yoga mats to make a train, but Dax and Tristan saw the mats as tracks for the cars they were playing with.  Leina, Collette, and Reese took time to observe what we have growing in the garden and discussed with one other what each plant smelled like.  Maya and Ben made up a very cool game on the playscape.  Ben would gather balls and put them into a tube while Maya caught them with a pitcher at the other end.  Once we came inside and set at the table for snack, Ms. Toni read us a story about hugs as we ate. The kiddos really enjoyed talking with each other about giving and receiving hugs and how hugs make them feel.  The kiddos were very eager to explore the new activities we had set up in the classroom.  Caden, Leina, Maya, and Zoey immediately brought out our new puzzle of the solar system!!  They spent the time to help each other and worked very well together to complete the puzzle as a team.  Mo, Miaya and Paige made shapes with the magnets counting the number of each shape's corners and sides.  Tristan and  Ryse had a fantastic time playing with the puzzle of numbers, counting the animals on each card and matching the number of animals to the correct number!  Zoey explored the different shells we had in the Science center.  Collette and Mo painted pictures in the art center as well.  Once we returned outside we had a lemonade stand set up!  The kiddos brought it upon themselves to decide they were at a restaurant and each one of them acted as if they were either the chefs, waiters/waitresses or the ones cleaning the kitchen! Dax really enjoyed making all of us olive pizzas and chocolate milk!  What amazing imaginations these little ones have! We also had sponges and water outside, the girls were acting as if they were painting their house.  While the boys were acting as if they were construction workers working in the sandbox with shovels.  Mo, Maya, and Collette started using the yoga mats as nap mats acting as if they were teachers helping the kids in their class go to sleep for rest time.  After we woke up from our naps we traced the outlines of our bodies on paper to hang up on our walls.  Everyone really enjoyed coloring their clothes, hair, and even drawing nail polish on their outlines!  Mrs. Leona graced us with her presence today for Spanish.  We sang new songs, danced!  Mrs. Leona brought a new song today that the kiddos got to sing as they were playing with sticks!  They always absolutely love to learn new songs!  We had such a great time today in the Primary room! We can't wait to explore new ideas and games tomorrow!
Much Peace and Love,
Lizzie and Nick
