A Muddy Monday

The day started out with our usual morning races, where every one screams. One, Two, Three Go! This lasted a long while as the weather was beautiful and inviting. We decided a picnic would be fun for every one, so we all sat and ate our delicious snack of apples and pineapples. We washed our hands in the hose and gathered for an outdoor circle time. We sang the alphabet, the days of the week, and read 2 stories from home!

We had more free-play out in the nice weather (something we like to enjoy when we have indoor days full of rain!) Friends took the outside baby (I'm sure you've seen this poor little thing) and we noticed baby was very dirty and needed a bath. We talked about baby brothers and sisters who are expected and how we care for babies. One way to care for baby is to take him/her a bath! We filled a tub with soapy water and invited friends to help scrub her clean. Annabelle and Koichi were very observant while Teo, Paisly, Alanna Jasper, Joey, and Ben got busy cleaning baby (Ivy and Theo attempted to clean baby in a puddle of mud before we got started with sudsy water! Theo said, "baby take a bath" as they rolled her in the mud!) Every one had lots of fun cleaning baby, and the baby was sparkling clean after! We went up the ramp to take shoes off for lunch; Paislie decided to be a shoe helper only after she put her socks on as gloves.

In the afternoon, we gathered outside to make finger paintings on coffee filters. We used a rainbow of colors, folded the filters, and opened them to reveal interesting patterns. After making paintings, those who wanted to had a chance to get some face painting. We saw lots of whiskers and mustaches! It was a great day!

I love the idea of painting on coffee filters, those accordian folds are given to all kinds of cool permutations! Thanks for yet another great post :)
