A Picture Perfect Monday!

We welcomed the month of October with a wonderful, cool morning and very routine drop-off! Most friends explored the semi-damp playground, finding water puddles, and digging in the dirt/mud. We soon made our way in for AM snack, some yummy grapes and bananas. We soon after made our way back out to the playground for our Toddler Class pictures! Everyone was asked to make their way to the sandbox, and sit on the benches. Everyone had their listening ears on and did as was asked; they sat patiently as we took simultaneous photos, while laughing, singing, and being silly! Most friends are very photogenic, and when told to say “cheese” they immediately knew what to do, and let out a BIG smile! :) Once we were all done with our photos, the Pre-tot and Primary class came out to take theirs, so everyone spread out, and explored the playground, Ivy was busy “baking” cookies, Alanna wanted to take more pictures, Theo was finding different pots and pans to bang on, Teo was rolling cars around with Koichi, and Asher and Jasper were working together putting balls down the pipe.

We made our way inside for hand-wash, lunch, and nap. After nap, we woke up to snuggles, books, and milk! We changed diapers, and had friends sit on the potty. Once most friends were ready they made their way to the tables for some marker/crayon/pencil/sticker art! After everyone made their work of art, we cleaned up and got ready for snack! Cucumbers and black beans were a hit, as everyone had little black bean mustaches :) We washed hands, then Jackie took half outside, while Ben, Annabelle, Joey, Paislie, Koichi, and Asher stayed in to help me water the plants, and feed Tuna Fish. We talked about awareness of our environment, and that like us, plants and animals need water and food. They were very excited to feed our fish, and made sure he ate all of his fish food up. We said goodbye to the fish and marched out to put on shoes, and end our lovely day exploring the playground!

Much Love

Today was a late morning for Teo, and we arrived as snack was ending. It was so sweet to see so many friends looking up beaming from their fruit to say "Teo!" Watching the clean up process, several friends had some difficulty or sadness waiting to wash hands, but Dom and Jackie were so loving and clear in their instructions that all got through it. Before we went outside, we sat on the carpet for a few moments, and Koichi came up and said "hi", and showed me the car he was playing with. Theo wanted to share all the train tracks with me and his toddler friends. I admired Paislie's fancy shoes and she was delighted, that is, when she was not busy trying to show off how she could wear a paper bag as an accessory! Looking at all our wonderful children, I was struck by how amazing they all are as individuals, and how fortunate Teo is to spend his first years with this group. Thank you Dom and Jackie for all you do to foster their sense of wonder and creativity, to help them feel safe and loved, and to promote their sense of compassion and caring for others!
