Inspired by our Bluebonnets' creative use of chairs to make trains in our classroom, this past week was all about getting on board with a train theme! Our friends brought in special train toys and many books about trains for show-and-tell and to share with their classmates during play time and book time. We were especially excited when a new play mat arrived for our Bluebonnets to take turns using to build train tracks. Our passengers and conductors choo choo chooed around the classroom and on the playground, going on exciting adventures and traveling to new places in their wonderful imaginations.
We continued to talk about nutrition during our morning and afternoon snack times as we energized our bodies and minds with healthy and delicious fruits and vegetables. We even enjoyed a special carrot and beet juice shared with us by our Primary friends! Our Bluebonnets were more than ready to practice their yoga moves and Spanish words during our afternoon activities! While we did have a few stormy days, we didn't let the weather bring us down! Instead, we found inspiration in the rain and created beautiful blue watercolor paintings using droppers on white paper and a waterfall technique. To bring even a little more nature into our classroom, our friends decorated a piece of bark we found on our playground with paint and glitter! On Thursday we celebrated one of our Bluebonnet's 2nd birthday! Happy Birthday Naomi!!! We spent the afternoon in song and smiles as we celebrated with some very delicious vegan coconut sorbet! The Bluebonnet teachers would like to extend a warm thank you to our parents for visiting with us at our teacher-parent chat night! We loved having you in our classroom and for those that were not able to make it, we missed you! Have a wonderful and peaceful week! Love, Jodie

I laughed out loud so many times looking through the photos this week! It looks like everyone had an awesome train week. And really, there are many print-worthy photos! I have sort of been on a photo book kick and was thinking that maybe y'all could flag your favorite ones over the course of this next school year and I could make a photo book for the class :) They are just so sweet. I can't help myself!
