Dancey Friday!

5/31/2013

Dance party Friday always has everyone excited, as Alanna and olive boogied down! We had a lovely picnic under the dome, before digging for roly polies, and watering the garden. Arielle had set up some paper for everyone to decorate with crayons, Ancel joined his sister in coloring, and Sophie, Paislie and Alanna all asked for a crayon and started on the other paper.

After nap, we enjoyed the classroom, friends working on puzzles, in the new “car garage” in the construction area, and reading new books that Ms Jackie got for us! We enjoyed some water coloring before having a fun little snack, then marching outside to enjoy our Friday afternoon!

Much Love

Yay for New Books!

Ms Jackie visited the library and brought back some fun, new, exciting books for all my friends! Ms Toni surprised us by leading Circle Time, which they all loved! We then sat for a fun, Letter O, art project! We made Ostrich’s, using construction paper cut out in an “O” shape, with head, tail, and feet! Each friend applied their glue, then added their construction paper to the letter O. WE cleaned up, then marched out for some exploration before lunch and nap.

After nap, we had a visitor, Mr Ryan. We sat for snack as he introduced himself, and showed everyone his guitar. They all loved it and were very interested to hear what he was going to play. He sang some songs in Spanish, which all my friends sang along too, The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star! We told Ryan “Adios”, got shoes, sunblock and bug spray on, and marched outside!

Much Love

It was a wonderful Tuesday! We came inside to eat our delicious snack of apples. After, we went right into circle time where we sang songs in English and Spanish and read some books. We talked about the letter “o” and moved to the tables to make O’s out of Cheerios. Every one had fun putting cheerios on their glue. We went outside for some free play. We came in, ate, and slept. After nap, Chelsea came to do yoga with us. We listened closely to the singing bowl she had and felt the musical vibrations in our heart and stomach. Every one was very attentive. Ivy, Paislie, and Alanna volunteered to try to make the bowl sing, and every one calmly observed. We ended the day on the playground! Enjoy the pics!

It was a beautiful Wednesday morning, we checked out the garden, tasted some yummy mint, then made our way under the dome to have a delicious morning snack in the shade. Once everyone was done, we rinsed hands with the hose, then 3 at a time, i took them in to work on some shape art. Olive, Ivy, and Paislie volunteered first, and marched inside with me for some cool air and painting :) I brought out 3 different wooden pieces, that were shaped as squares, rectangles, and triangles. i squirted some paint on a tray and made a square shaped stamp on my paper, they picked their block and got to work making stamps. They filled their paper, then said all done. Sophie, Theo, and Teo were up next, eager to relax inside, and get their hands dirty! Ancel and Asher were up next, excited to come in after a fun morning outside.

After nap we woke to books and milk. Jackie read a book in the library, while Asher, Ancel, Sophie, and I rolled cars on the table back and forth to each other. We soon after had sn

Monday Fun!

Monday was filled with reading books outside and enjoying the beautiful day! We enjoyed a book in the shade, under the tree in the sandbox, before exploring the playground and garden. Paige, from the primary class, brought a fun “worm car”, which everyone wanted a turn on!

After nap, our special visitors, Wynn and Sophie, sat at the table working with play dough. Wynn pressed down hard to make the cookie cutter stick, while Sophie squeezed the play dough, and watched as it molded before her eyes. Once everyone was awake, we had milk and friends sat on the potty/diaper changes. Ms Abby made her way over and we enjoyed some Yoga on the carpet. Friends asked for “little Yoga Clock”, and Ms Abby happily obliged. We said goodbye, got shoes on and marched outside!

We finished the day out with a book from Wynn, about the Ocean!

Our Friday started with a cooking project, today we made healthy "Donuts". We cut apples in half, and spread sunbutter on them, we gave them the option of cheerios, raisins, and craisins to sprinkle on top! Some friends went for the sun butter first, than the apple, while other decked out their "donut", and took big bites, saying "mmmm", as they enjoyed it!

We made our way outside, were we discovered different caterpillars and earthworms in the garden. Ms Ashley created a habitat with some friends, and they were very interested to see where the caterpillars were going.

We had fresh fruit and frozen fruit smoothies (fruit, ice, water) for PM snack, before heading outside

Thursday!

It was a beautiful day. We had circle time right after morning snack and read Olive's book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, and pointed out how she was wearing a matching Dr. Suess shirt! We sang name songs and talked about the days of the week and the weather. We headed outside to do our "marble painting" and each kiddo was excited to bang the marble around and see what markings would appear on the paper. Then, we had lunch. During lunch, we passed mint around  ("m" for mint!) for smelling and tasting. Some friends stuck the mint in their food only to discover that it didn't compliment their food well; others ignored it, and others were curious to smell and taste it separate from their food. After nap, we played with race cars, got race car tattoos, and read Ancel's book about a puppy. We headed outside to end the day!
