We started out the day with a delicious self-serve snack! We had low numbers and so joined forces with the pre-tots. We talked about the letter "R" and made "round" images using cups on a large piece of paper. At the end of the day we did some splashing!

It was such a beautiful, breezy morning, we stayed out later and enjoyed a picnic with the pre-tots. While keeping up with our letter of the week, Ms Jackie and all my friends went to the sand box to enjoy a book. "Ribbit!" was the name, and everyone was excited. Olive immediately did the sign for frog, while Ancel decided to slide and listen! Ivy asked to read again, while Toni and I sat to show everyone the baby carrot that came from our garden!

After nap, we got ready for Splash Day and marched outside. They enjoyed sitting and splashing in buckets, scooping, dumping, and pouring water, on themselves, each other, and on the deck! after a long time playing in the water, we marched in for a yummy snack before heading out to the backyard to enjoy the

Great Tuesday!

It was a wonderful Tuesday! We started out the day exploring the garden, finding rolly pollies and making cup-cakes in the sandbox. We headed inside for a delicious snack and quick circle time before we moved onto our letter “R” activity. We wrote R’s on red construction paper (tracing dotted-line “R”s) and encouraged every one to try tracing the lines. Some scribbled over their letters, some over the entire page, and others spent time covering the lines with shading and scribbles. Then, we traced the “R” with glue, and sprinkled rice on top. We headed outside for fee-play and came in for lunch and nap.

After nap, we wrote with chalk on black paper. Not every one had a chance to do some drawing before it was time for yoga. Our new friend, Amelia , led the class in yoga. Then, we had second snack and discussed Teo’s book about silly sandwiches. We headed outside to end the day!

checking out the new butterflies in the primary room, before we marched outside for a lovely picnic, on this beautiful monday! We introduced the letter "R", and brought out Ribbons, we made bracelets, rings, and headbands, and decorated our Ribbon with stickers and using a sharpie, wrote the letter R on it!

Ms Abby came by after snack for some yoga fun, before we had dance party! Ms Jackie was showing off her moves, as other friends tried them out too, excited to jump, dance, and move their bodies around before marching outside for the rest of our Monday afternoon!

Warm and Sunny Wednesday!

Our favorite morning routine lately has been checking on our gardens, and giving them as much water as possible to grow bigger! Their favorite vegetables/fruits/herbs to try from the gardens are Kale, Mint, Parsley, Fennel, and of course our baby strawberries! Theo loves to help me water the garden while everyone else finds cups or bowls to collect water and help the other plants and trees that need water.

After snack, we sat on our x’s and read the book Ivy brought to share with the class! She and everyone were excited to read it and count along! We “stacked our apples” up high while we counted to 10 and backwards! Soon after, we sat to work on our “Quilt”! everyone had a piece of construction paper to work with, first we started with stamps and markers. Next we used glue, pipe cleaners, seashells, stickers, sequence, and googly eyes! Our friends were so creative with their piece of the quilt, some added lots of markings by markers, but little glue, while some friends explored with the glue, and pretty much covered their whole paper in it, which brought us to our last material, Glue! We cleaned up and marched outside

Splash play in the afternoon was great, we enjoyed the deck and shared with the pre tots, most friends lounging in small buckets with little to no water, while others collected water in anything they could find and transferring it to other buckets or on themselves! We soon marched inside after lots of fun water play, for snack and to the back yard to end our day :)

Awshum Tues!

It was a fabulous Tuesday! We had fun wearing “quail hats” for the letter “Q.” Some of our friends sported them all day long, while others were ready to move onto something else right away. We had snack and painted using the Q-tips on the letter “Q.” We headed outside to find the pre-tots getting mud on drawings of pigs, and some of our guys were happy to help. We had some outdoor exploration time and finally came in for lunch and nap.

After nap, Abbey came to do yoga with us, and we got to meet Abbey’s friend Amelia who we might start seeing more often at the Sprout. After yoga, we had a chance to read a book that Asher brought, and finally we headed outside to end the day!

Marvelous Monday!

Started the day with some gardening and checking on our newest sprouts, and our carrots that are growing in our second garden! We marched in for snack, then sat around the rug for circle time. We started with the days of the week, and counted our days. I introduced the letter "Q", and we began naming words that started with or had the letter Q in it! Teo brought in a book that started with the letter Q, and was excited to share with the class! "Quack, Daisy, Quack" was the name of the book, and all my friends loved quacking when they would see the ducks. once we were all done, Ancel excitedly wanted to show his doll that he brought to school today. If you squeeze the dolls tummy and talked, it would repeat what you would say, which just made all my friends so happy! They all told the doll "hello", and giggled when she said it back. We all said thanks to ancel for sharing, and got ready to march outside. Sophie and Olive found me near the garden and asked nicely for some mint and kale.

after nap, we enjoyed some play dough while getting ready for Ms Abby and yoga! Ancel and Noah were busy making "pancakes", while Teo rolled his play dough with the rolling pin. Yoga went routinely, as we soon sat for snack, before heading outside to splash in the sensory tables, and run around with friends!

It was a fabulous Thursday! We started out the day reading books at snack time, and then quickly moved onto more books at circle time. We read Ivy’s book about planting kisses, and we all had a chance to plant and blow kisses and talk about how love tends to grow! Later, Ancel had a chance to taste a strawberry from the garden (we are keeping track of who eats what from the garden at the front of the school). Soon every one will get a chance to try something! We went out for some free-play, and some fo our friends made a came of walking around the umbrella. In the afternoon, we had a very successful Splash day. As we got into our room, we had a chance to explore the penguin project that Teo’s family provided for us. It was a very busy day! Enjoy the pics!

Fab Tuesday!

It was a fabulous Tuesday! We started with a delicious snack of watermelon and bananas! We then had circle time. We counted, sang songs, and read One, Two, Three, Peas for our continuation of the letter "P." After seeing peas in a boat, Ivy commented that she, too, road in a boat in Vancouver. Teo and Alanna were sure to say that they did, too! We sang the Itsy Bitsy Spider yoga style, and friends had fun getting on their back and moving their legs around to sing the song. Paislie especially loved showing off some yoga skills. After, we painted peace signs and/or helped put together a giant puzzle of a castle. Paislie and Asher were very interested in fitting the pieces together. Ancel was interested in identifying pictures in the puzzle. Alanna enjoyed noticing the colors and helping match them. When the paint came out Noah, Sophie, Teo and Theo were ready to go! Soon Ivy joined and we had a blast.

We went outside for some free-play, and were sure to make coffee and tea in the sandbox for the morning. We had a chance to observe some caterpillars that the primary had collected, and talked about the yellow swallow tail butterfly, which is the butterfly that our particular caterpillars will turn into. Soon it was time to come in for lunch and nap.

After nap, Abbey came to do some yoga with us. We had fun dancing to Little Yoga Clock, which is definitely a class favorite. We practiced moving objects with our feet to help gain balance and strength. After yoga, we were ready to head outside and end the day. It was a wonderful Tuesday!

Sunny Monday! :)

We checked on our community seedlings (watermelon, cucumber, and carrot seeds ) and to our surprise the watermelon sprouted, some were knocked over by the rain, but in the wet soil lived a family of roly polies :) which everyone was excited to see. Teo, Asher, and Sophie had fun playing peek a boo on the play scape while Theo rocked on the hula hoop, shaking his hips back and forth.

We came in for snack and circle time, sang the days of the week, and theo let us know today is Monday! For circle time ms Jackie read some Library books that all start with the letter "P"!  We finished up our adorable peacocks before marching outside for some exploration. We noticed the red strawberries in the garden and of course wanted to pick them. With Permission Alanna and olive helped pick and eat the strawberries!

After nap, Ms Ann joined us for some Yoga!  We began with Little yoga clock, and followed by sun salutations. Ms Ann said it was time for relaxation, so we all laid on our back, as she went around rubbing their feet. We sang Namaste, and said goodbye, and sat at the table for snack. We marched out to the hot, sunny afternoon!
