Free-Spirited Friday!

Talk about a busy Friday! Everyone was involved and engaged once they stepped foot onto the playground, as there were pots, plants, and soil all set up by the sandbox! We all listened while Ms Toni told us the game plan, and got busy! First we started by watering all of the plants from our classroom, then we filled up the new pots with soil, this was especially fun as we explored the soil and got a little dirty! Finally,  we transferred the plants to their new homes, but not without talking about their roots, leaves, and maintenance. everyone was so interested in the plants and taking care of them, it was beautiful!

After we got all of the plants into their new homes, we made our way inside for a quick Hand wash and snack, before making our way out again for some good ol' fashion outdoor painting of our awesome "Peace, Love and Green Sprout" banner and Music Fridays with Jackie! As a community, the pre-tots, toddlers, and primary friends made their way onto the hill for some singing and dancing! Everyone got comfortable on the grass, as Jackie played our favorite songs on her guitar! Some of our friends opted to lounge around with teachers, while some cut a rug dancing with friends, or alone! The weather was great and everyone was Having a blast! We closed it up with some "Wheels on the Bus", before making our way inside for lunch and nap!

I guess most of our friends were super tired from our morning activities, that most of them napped close to 3! Once we were up from nap, and done with the potty, our Pre-Tot friends joined us and we had combined snack of Broccoli, Edamame, and Mixed Veggies. Toddlers had so much fun showing our Pre Tot friends all of their stations, the one that they were most interested in was the kitchen/dramatic play! Cate read them some books, while we all got our shoes on and headed outside! Our small group had the whole playground to themselves and explored until coming in for last snack on this wonderful Friday!

Today's extra cool breezy weather this morning put us in such a great mood and energy we decided to extend outside time into our snack time and brought snack out back to enjoy! Each sprout sat next to their friend in a perfect line and held their bowls tightly in their lap. Jackie and I were so impressed with their patience and eagerness to sit so closely to their friends. Koichi and his dad then showed up for drop off and joined the line of picnickers.

Once we finished snack and did a quick hand wash with the hose, we explored the garden closest to the school. We came across some yummy organic herbs, basil, spearmint, and thyme! They were so interested in the smell, texture, and taste of the herbs. Their favorite was definitely the spearmint!

Since we had the playground to ourselves we decided to have some fun and bring out different colored streamers! We let our friends pull, tear, and run with the streamers behind them flying in the wind! We wrapped some of our friends up like mummies, gave them headbands, and "swaddled" them with the streamers! They enjoyed ripping them to shreds and decorating our playscape with loose streamers! Our friends from the pre-tot and primary class made their way out, so that was our signal to clean-up, find our shoes, and make our way in for hand wash and lunch!

After lunch and nap, we went into our centers. Ivy, Alanna, Paislie and Teo all had an awesome tea party and invited Dom and Toni to join them. Koichi and Theo were lining up tiles in the building center and Joey was exploring some interesting lights. Then, we joined the two tables together for a grand snack and Spanish time. As we were starting, Joey stopped the whole class and announced "I have an idea!" That is how we jump started our singing! We ate our snack of quinoa, broccoli, and raisins with spoons and sang "Vamos a Cantar" by Jose Luis Orozco. When we sang the Rain Song, Ms. Leona brought out her shakers and we all had fun banging them on the table, on our chests, and on our heads! We all sang the Adios song with Ms. Leona and it was time to get our shoes on and head outside! What an awesome day!

The adios song goes like this:
Adios amigos
Adios amigos
Ya me voy
Ya me voy
Me dió mucho gusto
Me dió mucho gusto
estar con ustedes
adios!
adios!

set to the tune of Farajaka

Love,

Jackie and Dom

We started off snack with the challenge of peeling our own bananas to eat! Every one worked hard figuring out how to get their fingers into the peel just right. Others (mainly Paislie) decided to hollow out the peel using her sharp teeth! Every one had the responsibility of putting their left over peel into the compost! Theo was the first to show us that we could dump all our left overs into the compost as well! Then, we made it to the rug to begin Circle time. Teo, Ivy, and Alanna started a beat for us and we sang the days of the week three times! We asked, "What's the weather?" and figured out that it was breezy and partly cloudy. Then, Joey and Koichi requested the shark song, which includes members of the family, like baby shark and Grandma and Grandpa shark! We swam away in a hurry and then had a dance party to Spanish music which would prepare us for the afternoon. We all had fun pretending to sleep as Jose Luis Arozco sang "ahora vamos a roncar" which means to snore! As soon as our dance party was over, we noticed large pieces of paper on the tables and some cylinders with holes in them and paintbrushes. We used the cylinders as stamps and rolled them in the paint! Every one got their focus face on working hard on their creation. One by one we washed hands and prepared to march outside.

Teo, Theo, Joey, and Koichi were the first to notice paintbrushes in the water sensory table outside, and soon every one had something to use. We all painted the fence, reaching for places that no one else had marked yet. We transitioned in for lunch and nap and every one was in a great mood. While we were eating, Ms. Leona came to sing songs with us. At first every one stayed in their seats, but by the time we got to "Mi Cuerpo" every one was stomping and clapping with the song. Sandy joined us at this time and we all danced around together. Joey and Koichi sang along to all the songs! When Ms. Leona left, we had another rockin' dance party to Jose Luis Arozco, we got our shoes on, and headed outside. Wow, what a productive day!

Happy Tuesday!!

We started our day outside, with our early birds, Alanna, Theo, Teo, Jasper, Ivy, and Joey! We waited for more friends to arrive, while exploring the playground, garden, and playscape!  Ivy went on a bird feather hunt with Miya and Ms Toni, and was very happy to show off her findings, while Theo, Teo, Wren, Jasper, and Paislie all found balls to throw down the PVC pipe which was maneuvered into the playscape! Some friends waited at the bottom of the pipe to see the balls roll out, while others threw the balls into the pipe. It became a fun game of collecting balls and rolling them down the pipe! Just as we were about to head inside, we had a special visitor, Zoey’s new pup, Zelda. All of our friends were so excited to see and chase a dog on the playground, and Zelda was excited too! She ran circles around our friends, and then back and forth hoping someone would chase herJ.  They all had a great time, petting and being gentle to Zelda, before it was time to go in for AM snack and circle time!

We could tell most of our friends were not ready to come inside, as they were having a rough time transitioning to wash hands, and find a seat at the table to eat. So we did as quick a snack and clean up as possible, then split up.  Ms Jackie took Ivy, Paislie, Jasper, and Teo outside, while I stayed in with Theo, Alanna, Koichi, Joey and Wren. We built some tracks and talked about how the “fire trucks” and “school busses” drive on the road. Sang our “name song”, “days of the week” and “weather song” before picking out a big book to read, I found the perfect book, for our friends since they were having such a rough morning. “The GRUMPY Morning”, as I read the title, I asked some of my friends, if they felt Grumpy or unhappy at the moment.  Alanna and Joey said “yes”, but giggled, Theo answered “No, I not feel Grumpy”, and Koichi and Wren were busy driving their cars on the track! The book was very colorful, and full of farm animals, my friends enjoyed making all the animal noises, and seemed to be very interested even those who had, had a rough morning! By the time we finished the book, everybody was ready to regroup and meet outside. We marched out, to find Jackie and our other friends involved and busy in the sandbox slide, and involved in all of their other favorite outdoor activities! We drew with BIG sidewalk chalk, sang songs, and played “Ring-Around-The-Rosie”. It was great to see everyone holding hands, patiently walking in a circle, and having so much fun, “All falling down”.  We soon made our way inside for hand washing, lunch, and transition to nap.

After nap, we woke up with fresh faces! Alanna, Jasper, Wren, Ivy, and Teo were interested in drawing with markers. Joey and Koichi spent a lot of their time looking out the window and pointing out the passing cars. Paislie spent considerable time in the building area exploring tiles. Later, Ivy, Joey, Paislie, Teo, and Wren used playdough. We talked about the colors red, blue, green, and yellow. Teo asked for help to "make ball" and Wren was asking to "make a worm." We started a dance party to Ivy's cd. Toni heard the music blasting from our room and joined our class for an energetic

A happy energy was in the air this morning as we started our day. Toni was playing tag with the primary, and many of our toddler friends joined in the fun. Jasper and Joey had lots of fun saying "Ready, set, go!" We Sat on the fence to line up and go inside for snack. Joey, Paislie, and Teo joined the pre-tot class to keep their friend Olive company! She was the only pre-tot in class today!

We did our usual train track building and drove cars. Koichi is always one to start the sound effects...every one sat around making sounds and driving while Annabelle sat on Jackie's lap making comentary about what was happening. Jasper, Theo, Ivy, Alanna, and Wren started a beat for us so that we could sing the days of the week. We learned today is Monday, and sang a song about the sunny weather. Wren, Koichi, Ben and Jasper were interested in moving the velcro numbers that signify the date. We sang the name song "1, 2, 3, say hello to _____, we're so glad you're here today, 1, 2, 3." Wren, Koichi, Ben, and Theo got busy singing the song along with us. We read the book "You are Here" about two girls who go on an adventure in their house. They see a "giant" which is really a red mask used for decoration, and a "fierce monster" which is their pet cat. We talked for a long time about the hissing sound that cats make. Jasper, Koichi, and Ivy showed us their cat sounds. When I made the purr sound, Wren found a way to make a similar sound (doing rasberries).

Then we went outside to transplant one of our classroom plants. Everybody was interested in getting a little bit dirty. We found soil at the fig tree that was perfect for our plant. We grabbed dirt by the handful put it in the pot, took the plant from the other pot, observed and touched the roots, and stuck it in the big pot! Then, we took turns spraying water on our plants. Annabelle and Ben really mastered those water bottles throughout morning play time. They watered all the plants in the gardens!

Primary came out, and they brought tons of chalk. Every one was interested in taking some chalk and drawing on the fence and the play scape. Ivy really wanted to use all the different colors, Koichi enjoyed drawing on the play scape, Alanna drew on the slide, and every one got chalk all over their hands!

We came inside for lunch. During lunch, Alanna made each other laugh saying "i can't each it" as they put their spoons just out of reach and laughed. Soon it was nap time. Once we woke up, we had a grand dance party to Jasper's mix cd. He showed off his exciting dance moves and every one joined in the fun. Koichi was particularly interested spinning in circles until he fell. Then, every one separated into different centers. We went around with a mirror to show every one what they were doing. Wren said "Wren is drawing!" when he saw himself. We all got a set of stickers to use by ourselves while we played. Many friends put stickers on their body and on construction paper. Annabelle decorated her nap mat with stickers. We had snack, and then a dance party, and then fed Tuna fish just before leaving outside!

What a great day!

We set out for an easy-going Friday, and that's just what we had! Joey and Alanna joined forces with Cherokee and Arielle to take care of some younger friends in the pre-tot room. They hung out with Ancel and Olive! You'll have to check the pre-tot blog to see what they did :)

Meanwhile, Ben, Bennett, Jasper, Theo, Teo, Wren, Annabelle, and Paislie hung out with us! We did some exploring in the different areas of the room, did a quick circle time, and headed to the deck for a musical time with the Pre-tots. We did Jackie's wiggling song, where the most fun part is to wiggle, then Stop! Freeze! and Stick out your tongue! We threw balls, rolled them, and Dom showed us how she can toss a ball on the awning and watch it roll down! After hanging out on the kangaroo climber and driving cars, we came in for lunch and nap. We had lots of cuddle time in the dim light; Wren, Ben, Bennett, Theo and Jasper dog- piled on Dom while Paislie, Teo, and Annabelle laughed and observed the rough and tumble play!

After that, every one freely explored the room. Annabelle spent time taking Piggy around the room and having Piggy help her with small duties, like rolling up her nap mat! Jasper and Teo had fun moving stools around to peek out the window. Jasper was very busy either reading or jumping around and falling on the nap mats! Paislie was busy putting gloves on over and over again. Bennett wanted to make things tidy, so he "put it ( his sippy cup) up" over and over.  Ben was really into reading today saying "I read this book" and finding lots of different options. Wren was busy finding all the the things that are "up there" in our room and poking them with different objects.

Well, today was just an easy-going Friday. Our guys enjoyed lots of peaceful free-play, hugs, and high fives. We hope to see every one, including Ivy and Koichi on Monday!

Another great day at the Sprout!

It was a beautiful morning and what better way to begin our day then by blowing bubbles and going down the slide! Not to many friends were here, so Jasper, Paislie, and Alanna all thought It’d be a good idea to avoid the lines when more friends showed up, and go down the slide over and over again! Wren found some bubbles along the way and stopped to blow and enjoy them! Theo and Paislie had some important phone calls they needed to make before going off to explore! Joey had a great idea to make a track in the sand, and Jasper joined in the fun! We welcomed our good friend, Bennett, who will be hanging with the Toddlers for a few days! :) There was lots of action in the sandbox, as Bennett was tryin out the smaller slide, theo was balancing on a log, and Jasper was bouncing beach balls around enjoying the sand between his toes!

We made our way inside for AM and greeted Koichi, as he was just arriving! We had some sweet blackberries and raisins. We washed our hands, and made our way to the carpet, where we found tons of new books, from Jackies visit to the Library and some new ones, that were donated from Teo’s wonderful parents! We asked which book everyone would like to read first, and everyone choose “I’d like a Hug”. So Jackie sat with the pack and read, everyone listened attentively, and soon hugs were being given all around! We sang our circle time songs, “days of the week”, and “whats the weather?”  We were having so much fun reading and looking at our new books, that we didn’t realize it was almost lunch time, so we made a quick trip to the deck, where we found our Pre-Tot friends hanging out! We explored all the new push-cars, an eggplant that you can ride on, and lots of fun other gross motor materials they could explore. Everyone was so tired out, we did a quick hand wash, lunch, and transitioned to nap!

After nap, we had another awesome book/cuddle time, while some of our friends made their way to the potty. We read the “Belly Button” book, and many, many more! We worked a little at our stations, and had a quick “Yo Gabba Gabba” dance party, before Ms Leona made her way to our class. We cleaned up, washed hands, and sat for snack and Spanish time! We started with our “Hola” song, which of course everyone loves! Then Ms Leona brought out her “Itsy-Bitsy Spider” (La Arana pequenita) poster board, and everyone found their “Aranas”. We sang a couple of other new songs with Leona before it was time to say “Adios”! Our friends Koichi, Bennett, and Joey quickly made their way to the building area, while Jasper, Teo, and Paislie brought the step stools to look out at the big Trucks! We put our shoes on, and marched out for some afternoon exploration and free play!

Happy Wednesday All!

The Toddlers day began with some early drop-offs, Its always a pleasure to have some early birds, cause they love to help with snack, greet our friends who come in, and help with any friends who may be having a rough morning. Annabelle was my first friend today, so she sat and enjoyed her breakfast while I cut some yummy strawberries for AM snack. She prefers to have a book with her, and this morning was “Im going to have a Baby Brother”.  As we sat and chatted about the book, we noticed it started to rain! We talked a little about the rain, and then as more friends showed up, we made our way to the front, we looked out the doors to watch the rain, and then we checked on the fish! Theo, Annabelle, and Alanna were very interested in the color and size of the fish in the fish tank! We spotted a black and white fish, a fish with a blue tail, and a bigger, black and white fish! They were so intrigued and in awe, some even said they wanted to swim with the fish! :)

As the rain slowed down, and more friends showed up, we made our way to the stairs in the front area, Theo, Annabelle, Alanna, and Miya all enjoy the glow in the dark stars and planets that are in the little room before you go outside, so we opened and closed the door several times, referencing “light” and “dark”, before making our way out.

In light of our curriculum for the month, we have been focusing on Self-Awareness. Today, Alanna, Theo and Annabelle all had a chance to take a mini field trip to the baby room. We stopped to take off our shoes, and wash our hands, as we talked about the germs we have from outside, and that when we touch or play with babies, we have to have clean hands! All of the Toddlers were in such amazement at the baby room. We got to meet and greet our friends, Gage, Genevieve, Walter, Julia, and Jackson! Alanna and Theo immediately went for the music sensory wall, and Annabelle stayed close to me showing me books, and pointing at the babies asking their name.  We then started discussing the babies and pointing out that babies still drink bottles, they are crawling not yet walking, and that when they cry it is because they need something, but cannot yet use their words. We also remembered that we use extra gentle touches on our baby friends. Alanna and Miya brought out the pianos, so we felt it right for a song. Theo and Annabelle asked for “twinkle, twinkle, little star” so we began to sing and could tell the babies were getting very excited! Once it was bottle time, we started a clean-up and said our good-byes, making our way back to the hall, and outside.

As we got outside, the rest of the Toddlers were here and ready for snack, so we made our way into the classroom, washed hands and began a yummy snack of bananas and strawberries. After snack we made our way to the circle time carpet! Joey, Teo, Ben, Koichi and Wren love the transition from snack to circle/block building and enjoy building tracks as far and zig zag as possible. We finished cleaning up, and we brought our dramatic play baby dolls, crib, bumbos, and dramatic play clothes to the circle time area. Our focus stayed on babies and self awareness towards others smaller than us, We also talked about our friends who will be having a new addition to the family, either a baby boy or baby girl!  We practiced clothing and unclothing our baby doll, while using gentle hands and motions, feeding the babies in the bumbo, and putting the babies gently in their crib, covering them with a blanket and patting them to sleep! Paislie was quick to grab a baby doll and practice what we had just discussed. Ben and Joey discussed where the baby should lay, Alanna checked on the baby asking if she was “asleep” or “awake”, and Theo also was practicing holding the baby gently, and placing the baby in the crib. Teo enjoyed placing the baby in the bumbo and sitting next to her in the other bumbo! J Our awesome little helpers! As we put the babies to “sleep”, we came across our fun potty book that actually flushes when you press a button! Everyone was so into it, that while Jackie read our “Potty Time” book, everyone took a turn “flushing”! Once we finished our book, we got shoes on and headed outdoors for some sensory exploration.

Theo, Teo, Wren, Ben, Alanna, Annabelle, Paislie, Koichi, and Joey have been searching far and wide for crickets these past couple of days, and today was no different! We took a stroll around the grassy knoll, listening for grasshoppers and crickets, and came across 2! But as quick as we were to run up and check them out, they were gone in flash. Since we couldn’t find anymore, everyone went their separate ways, checking on the plants, grass, trees, and finding exciting trucks to pour sand in and drive around. We soon made our way in for lunch and nap transition.

After nap, we had snuggle/potty time! We read some fun and exciting books, and listened to some baby lullabies on our noise machine. While we waited for snack and Ms Leona to arrive they each went to different stations and explored until it was clean up time. We washed hands, sat and had a delicious PM snack of hummus and cauliflower.  Once everyone was clean and at the table, Ms Leona came in with her wonderful poster boards of songs and finger plays. We had several requests from Joey and Koichi about which song we should start with, we started with our favorite, the Hello Song (Hola Amigos). Koichi, Joey, and Paislie love to follow along with Ms Leona and do the hand motions, while Alanna, Annabelle, Teo, and Ben love to listen along attentively, interested in the pictures on the poster boards. We sang and danced to about 5 more songs, before Ms Leona had to say “Adios”!

We ended our day with a fabulous dance party! Put on our shoes and headed outside for free play/pick-up!

Grasshopping Tuesday

8/21/2012

The day began with the watering of plants by some of our early birds. Wren was interested in touching Libby’s (Ivy’s mom) baby bump just as she was saying her morning goodbyes.  While Jasper, Wren, and Ivy watered plants, Paislie was busy getting her hair did by Theo. They were there for quite some time! As we were heading inside, we noticed an abundance of grasshoppers crawling and jumping in the grass, we decided to follow some around. We noticed some were green and some were brown. Jasper, Joey, Wren and Ivy were immediately captivated by these jumping creatures, but soon every one was chasing grasshoppers with us. We talked about how they hopped, jumped, and flew. Ivy was so excited that she started tearing grass from the ground and yelling “grasshopper, grasshopper!” We told her that that was just “grass” and the grasshoppers are bugs! We followed them into the garden, then across the “mountains” as Wren and Joey like to call them, and saw one green one hanging out on the fence. This is when Teo arrived and joined the fun. We all hopped like grasshoppers inside to wash hands, go potty, and begin snack. After snack we did another hand washing and soon the telephones were off the hook! Teo took the liberty of bringing some cars over while Alanna, Paislie, and Theo were all talking to “grandma” on the phone. I said hi to a few grandma’s, and we built things and drove cars. Koichi was peacefully studying a book about bugs. Circle time began and we did our days of the week song. It was a great success, and after we learned that today is the 21st, we looked out the window to check the weather, this is always one of Teo's favorite things to do. Partly cloudy and breezy was the consensus. Then, we started reading a book about bugs! When saw pictures of crickets, Dom turned her cricket ringer on, and we all listened carefully to the familiar sound. Wren, Paislie, Joey, Alanna, and Teo were especially curious about the cricket sound!

Again, we hopped out the door for some last minute free play (circle time was extended because they were so into the bug book!). When we got outside, Jasper, Theo, Ivy, Wren, Alanna, and Paislie found a puzzle with a dinosaur. With a little help from our friends, we were able to put it together. Joey and Koichi showed us how dinosaurs (especially T-rexes) growl! Theo got busy showing all his friends how he had a “baby take bath” and a “baby in cup.” As we went inside, some of our friends were very quick to take their shoes off, while Joey, Theo, Wren,  Ivy, and Alanna got really focused on the task at hand. Once they realized how “frustrating” it might be to take off shoes by themselves, I encouraged them to help each other, and soon everyone was tugging at each other’s feet, including mine! Every one was having difficulty, but Joey was able to discover the secret hand positions that allow shoes to come off of feet. He went around saying “I help you” and every one stuck out their feet as he helped them remove their shoes. Theo got busy balancing shoes on the railing as we often do, saying “I put them up there.” When we got inside we all washed hands and had lunch. Teo said “all done” after each course, probably in hopes of washing his hands each time! Once we got to nap time, Jasper was so tired that he fell asleep reading a book! He was the first one to fall asleep.

When the little ones started waking, Koichi was quick to get a book about going potty that makes a flushing noise. He took it into the book cave where he knows it’s harder for friends to find him. Later, we brought out our “small plants” and every one had a turn spraying water on the plants. Koichi, Jasper and Teo turned it into a spraying game, getting each other wet. Later, we used the sprayers and paper towels to clean the chalk board. Once it was closer to second snack, we found books to bring to the table, and every one was interested in reading. After snack and washing hands, we got busy using magnets with Dom’s guidance, and Koichi was able to make our magnet tower super huge! We mentioned a dance party and Jasper and Wren got super excited. Ivy’s mix cd was popped in and every got to cutting a rug. Teo was hopping around, Jasper was jumping and flailing his arms, Joey was running in circles, Alanna and Wren danced together, and Ivy was jumping with loud stomps.

We finally hopped outside to end the day, and what a glorious one it was!

Fire Drills and Tuna Fish!

Happy Monday at the Sprout

We started out our day going outside into the breezy weather, we only had a few friends, which is very unusual for a Monday, but we took full advantage and began to explore and water the garden. Some of our primary friends pointed out that there were “orange tomatoes” which meant they were ready to be eaten! Jasper, Annabelle, and Teo all had a chance to pull the tomato of their choice and taste it! Yum!  Once all of our friends arrived, we made our way inside for AM snack, stopping by the Pre-Tot to give a loud HELLO! When we got into our room, some of our friends remembered that before and after snack we sit and wait patiently to wash our hands, other friends wanted to explore just for a second before taking a seat and waiting. During our snack, we talked to our friends about Fire Drills and Fire Alarms! Once snack was done we made our way to the carpet, and read a book that had fires in it! Wren, Ben, and Theo were able to identify the fire trucks we have in our building section! Dom put the alarm on her phone, and as it went off, explained that when we hear the “beep, beep, beep” at Green Sprout we are experiencing a Fire Drill! We explained that when that happens, usually there is a fire somewhere and that we have to evacuate the building for our safety!

We then made our way outdoors for some exploration time.  Before we knew it, the alarm rang and it was time to line up by the gate outside! Many of our friends have experience holding hands, and these skills were put to use as we march, march, marched to the front. While we were out there, we counted ourselves loudly to make sure we were all present! Wren, Alanna, Jasper, Paislie, and Koichi were very interested in the babies in the pack and play. So, as a class we observed the babies and talked about gentle touches with them.  Soon it was time to head in for lunch, potties, and nap!

As we awoke, friends sat on potties and then began exploring the room. What we’ve found, is that it takes a little while for everyone to figure out what they want to focus on, but once they do, the really get serious about their work and play! Eventually Paislie, Ivy, and Ben found their place playing with playdough. Teo and Wren took a lot of time exploring the counting bears (along with 3 of our pre-tots who spent time with us before and after nap! They love those counting bears!) Alanna was busy dragging large carpet tiles around the room, while Annabelle was chilling out on her nap mat playing peekaboo with Piggy.  Jasper and Koichi were taking turns playing with the classroom strobe light. We did a cleanup, had snack, and then had an awesome dance party (always a request from Wren and Ivy).

We got to the big back yard early, and soon wanted a change of scenery. We ventured once again through the pre-tot room, and finally got to the deck, where started water play. Koichi, Ben, Jasper, and Ivy went straight for it. Later, we brought Tuna Fish,, our Beta, out for lunch (to feed him, not to eat him!). Paislie, Teo, Ben, and Alanna were very interested in picking up the smallest speck of a pellet to feed him, and then watching him chomp down. Finally, everyone had a chance to ride on small cars and bikes out on the deck. We made our way to the big back yard to finish up our day!
