Hooray for our new Toddler friends who made the transition into their new classroom smoother than ever!
We had a big introductory day around the classroom and with Montessori, Practical Life works!
We are all VERY excited for what's to come!

We welcomed Theo back from his vacation today, starting out in the big backyard. We spent our time balancing on pieces of wood and practicing helping each other up each time some one fell. We hung out in the play house, running a drive-thru restaurant. Ancel loves to order Mac and Cheese through the windows. Asher and Teo drove cars and planes throughout the morning, and Olive sang songs about letters and monkeys at the log. Ivy, Alanna, and Paislie hung out between the sandbox and the playhouse, talking about food, princesses, and babies (it's been a thing, lately!) And Hunter, who was having a play-date, had fun observing the garden and preparing mud cupcakes in the sandbox. We headed in to do some free-drawing and had lunch. We've been doing so many projects at the tables together, it was refreshing to get to make some original art pieces.

After nap we had a fantastic Splash Day. Every one was excited to cool off their bodies by splashing in the pools and pouring water. We ended the day inside as it was burning up outdoors. It was a lovely Thursday! I will miss this group of kids together!

We started out in the big backyard. The playhouse was the place to be throughout the morning. We headed in and transitioned to circle time with blocks and railroads. We read a book about Bunnies and had circle time, then proceeded to the tables to do some watercoloring.

In the afternoon, we had yoga with Anne. We got to put puppets on our toes and get calming foot massages. It was a fabulous Tuesday!

Love,
Jackie and Dom

Dance Party and Fruit Pops!

8/2/2013

as usual we started this friday with a dance party on the playground, followed by a duel picnic with the primary class! Ms Toni led circle time, while i prepped inside for our cooking project!

Today we made all natural fruit pops! We had a bowl with raspberries, lemons, and blueberries. As each friend sat in the primary room, patiently waiting and reading books, they one by one came to smash the fruit. First they started with raspberries, then lemon, then blueberries, some friends enjoying it, while others barely got their hands wet! Jane, hanks sister and our helper, helped friends get their hands in, then helped scoop the smashed fruit into ice cube trays. We stuck them in the freezer, washed hands, then made our way to our room.

After nap, we had a quick dance party and snack, before heading out to enjoy our fruit pops on this hot, windy afternoon!
