All throughout the week we practiced our pretty pleases and thoughtful thank yous as we talked all about good manners and table etiquette!
We know that it can sometimes be difficult to remember our manners - especially while enjoying the delicious and nutritious snacks at Green Sprout! - so our Bluebonnets listened to songs about using their favorite polite phrases and decorated their very own placemats adorned with the words, "Please" and "Thank You" to help them remember and mind their manners during morning and afternoon snack times! While we will miss having our Spanish teacher, Miss Daphne, come to visit us twice during the week, our language loving and learning toddlers were very excited to welcome, Siugi, our brand new Chinese teacher, and to enjoy our very first Chinese lesson! Ni Hao, Siugi! We exercised our body muscles during our yoga class and our mental muscles during a color matching game and our Montessori work time - giving our small muscles a workout as well as we practiced rolling up our new Montessori work mats! Our Bluebonnets love their exercise and working their healthy minds and healthy bodies! Our usual fun Friday was especially fantastic as our Bluebonnets joined the rest of the Green Sprout community in singing songs, dancing, and, finally, giving our new labyrinth on the side of our preschool some love with colorful paints and special nature treasures collected from our playground! Have a wonderful and peaceful weekend! Love, Jodie

Inspired by our Bluebonnets' creative use of chairs to make trains in our classroom, this past week was all about getting on board with a train theme! Our friends brought in special train toys and many books about trains for show-and-tell and to share with their classmates during play time and book time. We were especially excited when a new play mat arrived for our Bluebonnets to take turns using to build train tracks. Our passengers and conductors choo choo chooed around the classroom and on the playground, going on exciting adventures and traveling to new places in their wonderful imaginations.
We continued to talk about nutrition during our morning and afternoon snack times as we energized our bodies and minds with healthy and delicious fruits and vegetables. We even enjoyed a special carrot and beet juice shared with us by our Primary friends! Our Bluebonnets were more than ready to practice their yoga moves and Spanish words during our afternoon activities! While we did have a few stormy days, we didn't let the weather bring us down! Instead, we found inspiration in the rain and created beautiful blue watercolor paintings using droppers on white paper and a waterfall technique. To bring even a little more nature into our classroom, our friends decorated a piece of bark we found on our playground with paint and glitter! On Thursday we celebrated one of our Bluebonnet's 2nd birthday! Happy Birthday Naomi!!! We spent the afternoon in song and smiles as we celebrated with some very delicious vegan coconut sorbet! The Bluebonnet teachers would like to extend a warm thank you to our parents for visiting with us at our teacher-parent chat night! We loved having you in our classroom and for those that were not able to make it, we missed you! Have a wonderful and peaceful week! Love, Jodie Hello Toddler Bluebonnet Families!
We have had a wonderful start to the new school year! The friends have loved exploring the new setup of the classroom, particularly their new hooks for their school backpacks and our super comfy and peaceful cozy corner complete with calming crystals, nature jars, and our very own peace table! Our Bluebonnets have been taking great care of their bodies learning all about nutrition during our morning and afternoon snack times and practicing new poses during yoga with Vanessa and our new yoga teacher, Heather. The friends have also been exercising their minds during Montessori work time, Spanish time with Miss Daphne, and working together to write and illustrate our own class story and book! Together we discussed how much we love reading books, how to take care of our books, what authors and illustrators do, and finally, put our minds to work on a wonderful story about an elephant's trip through a jungle! After writing our story, we used our imaginations to draw illustrations for our book. We have some truly fantastic authors and illustrators in our class! During an extra hot afternoon, we brought water play indoors and created beautiful watercolor paintings and also decorated rainbow drawings with multicolored beads. On Wednesday, we took turns sharing special show-and-tell toys with all of our friends. Last, but certainly not least, we wrapped up our week with a fantastically fun Friday dancing and playing together! Have a wonderful and peaceful weekend! Love, Jodie |
