Busy Tuesday!

It was a breezy Tuesday morning in more ways than one. Lots of smiles going around as we lined up to go inside for snack. We ate a mix of oranges, berries, and pears, yum! After snack we made some phone calls using blocks that were waiting for every one on the rug. We did a quick clean-up and Dom brought a book from the primary about a little rabbit. Teo, Ivy, and Koichi were eager to point out parts of the pictures from the back, while Paislie, Wren and Alanna took front row seats. Theo was listening and observing the family collages, while Jasper was doing yoga and gymnastics as we read. We sang the alphabet, counted to 10, sang the days of the week, and sang about the weather. It's another beautiful sunny day! We ended circle time and headed to the tables where we found water color paper, paint brushes, and water colors. Every one was eager to dip their paintbrushes in the water! Teo wanted to stick his fingers in the paint, as did Alanna. Koichi knew just how to get some water and put it in the paint. Ivy got her focus face on and carefully made her brush strokes. Theo was eager to play with the water while Wren was happy to point out "that's water" and "that's paint." Asher utilized droplets of water, while Paislie splattered paint on her paper, and Joey made careful and clear markings. Jasper spent an extended period of time painting and focusing (he stayed in to finish as others were heading outside). Every one made such beautiful pieces of work! A few friends requested mustaches, and they got their wish! We headed outside for a few minutes of free-play.

We came in, had lunch, and snuggled up into our nap mats for nap. When every one woke up, it was time to explore some of the changes that have been made to our room. An art center with cool new stationary paper to use (thanks, Erica and Tim!), a stroller for our babies, some new blocks, new counting and alphabet materials, and a refreshed drama area! We took pics of them while they were using the toys of their preference, which they focused on for lengthy amounts of time! So much fun watching them do their thing! It was a great afternoon.

Wow, two straight days of focus face! Great pictures of all of them painting, everyone was so serious and deliberate. I also love the mustache pics, it's funny to see who got what mustache - perhaps indicative of their personalities? The blog continues to impress, thanks for the awesome updates and visuals!

Yes, Ivy certainly has the focus face...I see a lot of friends deeply concentrating on their creations. The art turned out so well, too...they really are masterpieces. Oh those mustaches are very cute...and my heart goes out to whatever was upsetting Theo at the time, and yet he is so adorable as he reminds us that a mustache does not render anyone impervious to the trials of life!
