Christmas and Holiday projects!

Monday was awesome! We started out the morning finished up our Kwanzaa poster. This included putting glue on the backs of our pictures and gluing them. Then, we headed outside to enjoy the amazing weather. In the afternoon, we had some free-play and had some tea parties. Then, we read a book about shapes and had yoga with Ms. Colette.

On Tuesday, we had a great circle time using finger puppets. In the afternoon, we did our own yoga and fun pretending to be sharks in the water.

Wednesday we had a chance to start making our holiday projects. Then, we had a fire drill. We marched to the front of the school, had a head count, sang songs together, and went back to lunch time. We had some awesome work time and then Spanish time with Daphne.  When we went back outside, we had an awesome time throwing leaves up in the air.

Thursday, we brought a Christmas tree to school and talked about it during circle time.  We took turns moving the fake branches down to set up the tree. We used  shoe laces, corks, flowers, and other objects from around the room to decorate the tree. In the afternoon, we made Insta-snow.  Then, we had a chance to decorate stockings with glue and glitter. Then, we picked one of our radishes from the garden and talked about how food grows from the ground. In the afternoon while we were free-playing, the kids decided to make a train with chairs. They all used team work and figured it out together. They went to the jungle and the zoo. Then, we had Spanish and talked about the zoo in Spanish.

Friday morning, we started outside, having dance party. Then we decorated gingerbread men at the picnic table.  We finished up our holiday projects using glue. Then, we washed our hands really well to prepare for building a “gingerbread house.” Using cream cheese, graham crackers, and dried cranberries.

It was a great week!
