"Digging" this Tuesday!

We started the day off with some garden exploration and dome exploration! It was great to see the look on our friends faces when they arrived at school and got to check out the new addition to the playground! We made our way inside for a quick snack, circle time, and Dance Party. We read two books our good friend, Teo, brought, so before we went out we sat and read a book about "Tractors" and "Fire Trucks", the kids really enjoyed rolling the books around and naming all of the different types of tractors and fire trucks. We thanked Teo for sharing with us, than marched back out to continue our exploration!  Everyone tried hard to climb up the dome, and most friends who couldn't opted to hide out under the dome, playing peek-a-boo with friends! We also visited the newly planted flowers and vegetables and helped them out by adding water and soil! Asher, Jasper and Alanna were great helpers, as I watered and talked about our new veggies. We practiced gentle touches and talked about how the plants start small but with water and sun, grow BIG! Paislie and Wren were super excited to jump on the extra dirt, and find big chunks to crush. We shoveled some dirt into the sensory table and hid small shells for our friends to find. Teo and Ivy were busy looking for shells, while Jasper enjoyed finding pieces of dirt to show his friends. We made our way in for hand wash, lunch, and nap!
After nap, we all had a cozy cuddle session, Toni leading the pack, as she laid there and Ivy, Wren, Teo and Joey jumped on her, giggling as they got tickled! Jasper woke up and went straight to the potty! Good job Jasper! Alanna enjoyed working on the puzzle with Asher and Theo talked to Dom about having a big poop on the potty, and how "hot" his coffee was :) koichi and Paislie laid on their nap mats not quite ready to get up! We said our goodbyes to Toni, and sat at the table. We split up the group, Theo, Ivy, Wren, Koichi, and joey worked on water colors at one table, while Alanna, Jasper, Teo, Asher and Paislie sat at another table working on playdough! everyone was so focused on their painting and playdough, once everyone was done, we washed hands and sat for snack! We had a yummy snack of olive and seaweed! We finished it off with some Cheerios, than friends started saying "all done", we did another quick hand wash, then dance party on the carpet while our friends got shoes on! Once everyone was ready, we marched to the playground for some more dome/garden fun and ended our peaceful, breezy Tuesday!

Much love
Dom and Jackie

What a fun day! Perfect mix of outdoor exploration, art, books, dirt and climbing - Ivy has her focused face on in the vast majority of these pictures! Jeff and I are always amazed at the mix of fun activities and creative projects that you all come up with every day. Thanks again for the great post and photos.

The play yard looks great! Teo has been very enthusiastic about all the new mulch; as you may know it is one of his favorite materials and a word he loves to use. The toddlers all look very enchanted with the climbing dome. Thanks for another great post :)
