Focused Friday!

We started our day outside, very routine, waiting on friends to arrive! Annabelle and Ben showed up first and were very anxious to get outside. We marched with our pre-tot and primary friends out to the backyard! Ms Toni showed up and started a fun, running game. They raised their arms, counted to 3, and were off! We had a primary/Toddler combined snack, and praised how patient and friendly they all were with each other! They were very proud of themselves and continued their morning exploring the outdoors. After about 15 more mins, we made our way inside to work on new lessons, new materials, and explored new art supplies. We brought out new cars, which Teo, Koichi, Joey, Jasper, Asher and Ivy were very excited to use, and also brought out some fun diggers and dump trucks, which we knew would catch the attention of Wren, as he grabbed the majority of them and started to explain to Jackie and I which ones were which, with a huge smile on his face J  Annabelle found the different books with wheels, and used them to roll around on the tracks that had been built! While most friends were busy on the carpet, Ben and Jasper made their way to the table and we brought out a fun, science lesson. Using droppers, food color mixed with water, I explained and showed them how to use the droppers and what would happen if you mixed certain colors together. They each had a small saucer and started to drop colors of red, blue, and yellow, making green and orange! While they practiced their new skills, Alanna was busy with the funnel/shoveling beans lesson, she was very focused and worked her fine motor skills as she scooped the beans and poured them into the funnel. Ivy waited patiently for one of her friends to be all done with their lesson. Ben finished before Jasper, so Ivy was quick to take his spot. She had her focused face on, while she dropped colors into her saucer, mixing them to make a different color! Paislie and Joey soon joined us, checking out the shelf to see what they wanted to work on. Joey sat and patiently waited, while Pais found the box with rubber bands on it. She quickly got to work, figuring out how to take off and put back on the rubber bands! Everyone worked for a bit longer, before we transitioned to clean up, lunch, and nap time!

After nap, we had snuggles, potty time, and milk time! Everyone broke off into stations again, and were the busy bee’s all afternoon. Ms Jackie left to the pre tot room, and Arielle came in to help, then Jackie made her way back to our room for Music Fridays! We started with “HEAD, SHOULDERS, KNEES and TOES” which was a hit! Annabelle had front row seating, while Ivy and Jasper danced their little booties off, identifying their body parts, as Jackie asked them to! She continued with more of our favorites, then made her way to Wren who was watching from afar! She serenaded him with “Itsy Bitsy Spider” while he jumped up and down! J Once she was all done, she made her way to the Primary room, as Lizzie came to join us! We had snack, washed our hands, and it was time to put on our shoes and head outside to enjoy the beautiful Friday afternoon!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Much Love

Dom and Jackie

Annabelle's favorite song lately is "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toys." Now I understand why. :-)
