Ice Cube Painting

Theo, my early morning friend, was very interested in the toolbox after his recent visit to Home Depot. He taught me all about the different tools, and he even had his measuring tape :)

The energies were high despite the rain, as we began our day, sitting around the construction area, Paislie and I with dinosaurs in our hands, and Asher Theo Alanna Ivy Noah and TEo building Stairs with the small alphabet blocks for the dinosaurs to walk up, we counted aloud, 1; 1,2; and so on. And as soon as the stairs were built, Ancel had the pleasure of knocking them down with his dinosaur! We did a quick clean up, and everyone sat to see what Ms Jackie had brought in, bigger, different sized wooden blocks. Theo asher ivy alanna teo and ancel sat while noah and olive observed. Paislie was busy with the babies :) we each took turns placing a block on one I placed first, I explained to them how we wanted to make it taller, and by carefully adding blocks it would get higher. We practiced for a while before cleaning up and having snack. After snack, we put both tables together and got our smocks on for some art! Each friend got an ice cube with a different colored paint in it, they knew exactly what to do, as the paint dripped onto their paper. They were so surprised that color was coming from the ice cube, and loved the different textures of ice to water, and used it all the way down to the last drop. Once they all completed their masterpiece, it was lunch and nap time!

Our afternoon was spent outside, after a very busy morning inside!

Much Love
Dom and Jackie

Those ice cube paintings are the bomb...what a great idea! Teo was still talking about it to his brothers and sister this weekend; I had to explain that yes, Teo really did paint with an ice cube! We got out his art and everyone admired it. Thanks for another great post :)
