T-T-Tuesday! :)

We started our day inside, due to the cold, rainy weather, but everyone was in a great mood, having a sensory exploration with the play dough and fun tools Teo's mom and dad (susan and scott!) gave us! Paislie, ivy, Theo, and Teo were very busy with the playdough. We did a quick clean up and hand wash and made our way back to the tables for snack! After snack we sat on the big carpet for circle time, we focused on the weather, and talked about the snow, we crumpled up paper, and had a "snowball fight" :) Wren and Teo had fun chunking the paper into the trash can, while Theo and Ivy enjoyed throwing the "snowballs" at ME! :) once all done, we got smocks on and began another sensory/art project, using crumpled paper, cotton balls, and our hands we painted on butcher paper! We mixed blue, purple, and white paint on the paper to make different designs, then when everyone was done, we hung the beautiful art on the doors for display! We soon transitioned to lunch and nap.

after nap, we read books and had milk. when everyone had a fresh diaper, 2 by 2, we went to visit Little Dragon in his new cage, Ben and Teo were first, they observed Little Dragon and his surroundings, looking for crickets in his cage, while Asher and Theo went next, and noted that LD was "laying in the hammock", Theo clearly identified. Wren and Paislie went next, then Ivy and Alanna, all were excited to say hi to LD and to their primary friends. When they made their way back into the classroom, we got pants on and ready for Ms Abby and Yoga. Abby came in, greeting all of our friends, ready to have some fun! She started with a series of songs and games with incorporated different yoga poses and terms. She is building a routine where she sings the same hello and goodbye yoga songs, by this second day of yoga, the kids were already requesting yoga songs. (Abby will be putting together a list of songs and yoga poses of the month, which she will be sharing, for parents to use as a reinforcement at home.) She closed yoga out with some new breathing exercises for the kids, in addition to the feather exercise, she had the children use a  expandable/collapsible ball that they each took turn holding. They all focused very hard and were very excited to have a turn! We said goodbye to Abby, sat for snack, and made the best of the afternoon inside!

Much Love

More great pictures here; thanks! The kids with their smocks on and covered with paint are super...love the one of Theo holding his purple ball "brush" in the air! every morning Teo loves to stop and say hi to LD so i know the trip to the primary room was a highlight of his day. Great yoga pics, some very nice trees, down dogs, and cobras in our group! Teo and I were talking about his day tonight ( Thursday) and we talked a little about Speanish with Ms. Leona. I asked if liked Spanish and he said yes, and he liked Ms. Leona, "but I like yoga more", he volunteered. maybe it's just the novelty factor but he is a complete enthusiast after two lessons, thanks so much for bringing yoga back to the Sprout!!!
