Making Ice Cream!

Our morning started with a fun dance party outside, before Ms Liz came to visit for our weekly cooking project, but this time in the morning! We snacked on cheerios, before making our way to the deck for some messy, foodie fun! The pre-tots joined us, as each child was handed 2 Ziploc bags, one big and one little. The big one held the ice, and the small one, the liquid. First, Liz got a pitcher to add each ingredient, she poured in vanilla coconut milk, coconut creamer, and honey, she walked to some friends and let them watch and help as she stirred it. Next was the fresh lavender and corn starch.  She walked to the other table and explained that before we put the liquid in the bag, we had to get the lumps out. Each friend took a turn stirring with excitement! Each toddler scooped their ice into the bigger bag, as Liz poured the liquid into the smaller bag. Toni added rock salt to the ice, and we zipped them all up, small bag in the big bag. We shook and shook the bags, waiting for the results. It wasn't quite melted, so we stuck them in the freezer waiting for them to harden. Spent a little more time on the deck before coming in for lunch and nap transition!

After nap, we got fresh diapers, shoes, and sunscreen on, marched outside and enjoyed a lovely ice cream picnic under the dome, with the parachute over the dome making for some wonderful shade!
