Monday with Ms Cate

We started this awesome Monday with some gardening! Asher helping me with hose, while jasper observed. We marched inside for snack, and was greeted by our friend Tristan who wanted to show us his musical talents by serenading us with some tunes on his trumpet! Thanks Tristan! everyone said "all done" and washed their hands. We had a brief lesson on how to use the hole puncher, before making our way to the table to check on Snarl, our fish! Instead of sitting on the carpet for circle time, we decided to include snarl in our circle and sang songs and read to him! Paislie and Teo also showed him some of their art work which they were very proud of! We said goodbye and made our way back outdoors for exploration. Ivy and our good friend Miya were practicing the hula hoops, while Asher dug with his tiny digger truck. Teo found a long sheet which he wrapped himself in and tried to walk, which he found to be funny, while olive and Noah examined the mulch filling buckets with it. Ancel was busy digging in the garden, and Paislie and Alanna took off their shoes to enjoy the cool sand!

In the afternoon, ms Abby came for some yoga fun! She started with our routine stretches, then surprised us with a book, "The Gruffalo", which all the kiddos loved. With each animal we came across in the book, Abby asked what sound they made and everyone was quick to let her know, after the book we practiced each of the poses of the different animals.  Once we finished the book, she asked everyone to stand up. She brought out her parachute, and asked for everyone to find a blue handle. we sang Ring Around the Yogi, while holding the parachute, flapping it up and down, than going under it "when we all fall down"! We sang it two times, as it was soon time for Ms Abby to go to the primary room, as we had snack and marched outdoors for some water sensory/freeplay!

Much Love

What a fun day! You guys have been killing it lately on the blog. Ivy was talking about the book that Abby read on the ride home, she said it was about bears which seems somewhat accurate. That parachute looks great and I'm still impressed with the ice cube painting project and ice cream making. Toddler class rocks.
