Olive's Birthday!

5/3/2013

It was a beautiful Friday. We hung out outside for quite a while having dance party and enjoying the weather.  We came in for snack and read Ivy’s book Sea of Dreaming. We  had fun making up stories about what was going on. Ivy was sure to say “I don’t like them” when we saw the little people who inhabited the sand castle in the story. Teo, Ivy, and Theo each said “I like them!” in response to Ivy. Then, Miss Liz came to show us how to make sushi. Every one got some sticky rice and sea weed to construct their food.  Every one gobbled up their snacks. We each had a turn smashing sunflower seeds in the “serbachi” (I’m not sure how to spell it!).

We headed outside to read Sea of Dreams again. Friends who were interested pulled up a chair to sit in. Alanna, Ivy, Teo, Paislie, and Olive were all very interested in sitting through the whole story one more time. Asher, Ancel, and Noah were busy walking the alligator, building Legos, and riding on “motorcycles.” We then had some free-play time.

After nap, Theo was being extra silly. Then, we took turns drawing on Olive's birthday card. Soon it was time to celebrate Olive’s birthday! She brought cupcakes for every one, and it was hard to focus on eating beans once every one knew what was coming. We sang happy birthday a couple of times, and congratulated her on turning 2! Every one took turns saying happy birthday to each other. We headed outside to end our lovely Friday!
