Rain drops falling on my head

Started the day outside, enjoying the breeze, garden, and dirt pile! Alanna, Jasper, Theo, Teo and Paislie enjoyed hanging on and under the dome climber, working hard to figure out how to get to the top. We waited for the rest of the friends to get there, and then marched inside! We washed hands and sat at the table for apples and dried cranberries, which was a big hit! We made our way to the carpet, and sang our classic circle time songs! We talked about the days of the week, and the weather! After, we read another great, fun book from Teo! It was about "shapes and sorting", we flipped the pages, while everyone sat quietly excited to see and recognize the new shape, Joey and Jasper were super excited to learn about new shapes and recognizing the colors! Then we read about "chores" and talked about responsibilities at home and at school! Most friends related to the chores in the book, washing their hands, brushing their teeth, and helping with plants and/or garden work! Once we finished the book, we marched out for sensory exploration, we brought out the sensory table and filled it with dirt! Everyone enjoyed digging through it and getting a little dirty, we searched for roots, bugs, and more in the dirt! Just as we were getting ready to head inside, a rainstorm caught us and we all ran up the ramp to the classrooms, some friends enjoyed the rain while some did not! We dried off, washed hands and sat for lunch!
After nap, Ms Lizzie came by to visit and help for the afternoon! We looked outside the windows while some friends sat on the potty and got their diapers changed! We noticed more grey clouds and talked about the rain! Once everyone was done we made our way to the table for some seaweed and tomatoes! We finished snack just as Ms Leona made Her way to the classroom! We sang our favorite Spanish songs, and Joey requested Itsy Bitsy Spider! We had fun finding our "Aranas", and singing! We told her goodbye, and went to the carpet to get on shoes. We marched out, to join the pre-tots. Again, the rain caught us and we all hurried inside, Asher, Joey, Koichi, Teo, Ivy, Theo and Paislie all thought it was a sight to see, and made their way to the windows, while Jasper, Alanna, and Wren took off their muddy shoes and joined their friends. We stayed in the rest of the afternoon, combined with the pre-tots, as we had pick-up and exploratory play!

Much Love

Sounds like another fun day! Ivy has been hopping around like a frog, quacking like a duck and pretending to be all sort of animals, have you all been talking about that lately? She's having a blast with it and it's pretty funny to watch. I'm picturing a toddler stampede in from the playground once it started raining - I bet that was a sight to see :)

I just know Ivy makes an adorable duck, or frog! I bet the teachers felt a bit cooped up this afternoon but I have to say the indoor pics from today look very cozy. Teo had great fun running around the outside of the school today and pointing out how the ground, the walls, the plants were all wet...I thought we might never leave :)
