Terrific Thursday!

Happy Thursday Toddler Parents! Your children all have been having a terrific Thursday! We began the day with a little water sensory to get the attention of everyone, they found it so interesting to scoop and pour water into BIG and small containers, as if it was their first time exploring this concept, they collected anything they could find and took it to the table. Theo and Paislie showed interest in what Miya was up to, wetting red chalk then coloring with it, they noticed the color was brighter and the texture was different. Theo found a bowl and a smaller saucer that he began exploring water with. On the other side of the playground, Teo, Alanna, and Jasper came across the hula hoops, but inside of trying to hula hoop with them, they wanted to roll them. They especially found it fun to jump through the hoops! We transitioned inside for hand washing and AM snack, and then made our way to the carpet for circle time. Teo, Joey, Paislie, and Wren built long, winding tracks and drove their cars, busses, and fire trucks down it, while Theo, Asher, Koichi, and Alanna worked together to put back the puzzle pieces. Jasper asked for dance party, with that we all sang the “clean-up” song, picked up, and began dance party! We then transitioned outside for outside exploration. Joey and Koichi “painted” the fence with water and sponges, hustling back and forth to get more water as they squeezed it onto the fence, while Asher used the “claw” to transfer water and sand to a cup. Alanna came upon the long pvc pipe and began putting objects in it to see which would roll down and which would not. Wren found a very interesting bulldozer, equipped with a button that makes real sounds! He was very interested in pushing the button, and figuring out all the things the bulldozer could do. Theo found his way to the sandbox, where his interest in scooping and pouring continued, as he filled a bowl using a smaller cup to scoop. Teo was content up on the play scape, enjoying the breeze and the yoga mats. By that time, our friend teddy made his appearance, Toni through the ball while teddy chased it, and everyone chased teddy! We said our goodbyes, and made our way inside for lunch and nap.

After nap, Theo and Paislie both pooped in the potty and we congratulated them. Asher was busy zooming by, cleaning with vacuum cleaner, while Wren, Teo, Jasper, and Koichi were interested in looking out the window and talking about thunder. After some free play, we used markers on a picture of "animales." Every one was interested in coloring their beautiful pictures. At 3:15 it was Spanish and Ms. Leona gave us a warm greeting. We all sat at the table and sang songs, but it wasn't long before Joey, Koichi, Alanna, Jasper, and Paislie were dancing with Ms. Leona. Soon every one was dancing with her. She brought out her "maracas" and we shook them to make the sound of rain. The words are:

Esta lloviendo lloviendo lloviendo
que estas asiendo asiendo ayi?
estoy viendo viendo la lluvia
que esta cayendo cayendo asi!

Pardon the bad grammar! They eeeveryone had a blast shaking their shakers making the sound of the rain and Ms. Leona noted that she was so happy and impressed by our toddlers! Every one gave her high fives and we sang our adios song. We washed our hands and had afternoon snack. We talked about the loud thunder we were hearing, and then turned out the lights and had a super fun dance party with disco lights, a strobe light, and black lights. Every one took turns swapping lights and taking them to different parts of the room to see the different patterns and images the lights were able to make. What a great afternoon!

Love,

Dom and Jackie
