When should I apply and what does that mean for my enrollment?
We recommend filling out an application form as soon as you learn that you are expecting/or that you would like to join our community. Green Sprout is thirteen years old and we have proudly established a solid referral-based community. If you are interested in enrolling your child in our program we recommend submitting your application at least 1 year in advance. Once we receive your application, we will confirm that you are on our wait list. We will begin offering group tours this fall and look forward to showing you around our campus!
As the age ranges of the classrooms increase so do the number of students for that class which means we are able to offer positions to new families who have submitted an application. Unfortunately, submitting an application does not secure a spot for your little human.
When a spot is available in a classroom, we take the following questions into consideration before offering an applicant the position:
a. When was your application submitted?
b. What is your child's age at the time the spot is available?
c. Would the child benefit from the classroom dynamic and vice versa?
d. Would the child and their family fit well with our community?
What happens if I am not ready to accept a space when it is offered to me?
If you decline an enrollment offer, you may choose to remain on the wait list and your application date will not change. However, it is important that you know we cannot guarantee a space will be available later unless you hold it by paying the tuition for your child.
When is enrollment available?
We have school year round, so we have open enrollment. We begin to contact families about enrollment as soon as we know a space is available. How often and in what age group this happens is not predictable. We will try and give you a month’s notice, but sometimes spaces come up unexpectedly and we will fill them as soon as possible.
How will I know if you received my application?
When you submit the application, you will receive an email confirmation.
What happens if I do not respond to an email?
Within the school year, you may receive offers and emails from the Green Sprout Admin Team. If we do not receive a response from you, we will assume you may no longer be in the Austin area or you are no longer interested in enrolling your child at Green Sprout Preschool. When this happens, we deactivate the wait list application in order to keep our wait list current and ready to quickly notify interested families. If you find that you have been deactivated, and would like to be put back on the wait list, please contact Liz or Kayla at [email protected]
Is preference given to current families?
We DO give priority to siblings and families who are currently enrolled at Green Sprout. If a family who is currently enrolled at Green Sprout has a second (or third child) they will be offered the next available spot in the infant or pre-tot classroom before it is offered to a new family. We also give priority to the Green Sprout guides if they are expecting or already have children.
Who should I contact if I have questions about the wait list or enrollment?
Liz Gelinas and Kayla Liptak at [email protected]
