Toddler Bluebonnets
Guide to Student Ratio, 1:7
(Maximum of 14 students in a classroom)
At the age of two, children not only begin to feel a deeper bond to their school and its teachers, but they also begin to develop the necessary skills used to make and maintain friends. At this age, it is critical that a child is able to practice and exercise his or her basic communication skills. Emotion-coaching is a key component of our program so that students understand how to recognize and communicate how they are feeling as well as what their needs and desires are.
The Montessori and Reggio Emilia curriculums are gradually introduced with an emphasis on learning basic exploratory skills and building an early vocabulary. Music, movement, dramatic play, art, alphabet recognition, and group time are incorporated throughout the day. Toddlers are encouraged to become their own independent and respectful beings while learning how to follow directions and make thoughtful everyday decisions.
Autonomy is a huge component of the toddler stage in life. Our guides work hard to help empower the toddler bluebonnets to be as independent and self-sufficient as possible when it comes to putting on their shoes, opening up their lunch box, mastering their works, getting dressed and using the toilet. Our guides are here to help encourage growth in a peaceful, patient, loving and emotionally supportive environment.
