Introducing young children to a variety of healthy foods is imperative to developing and instilling healthy eating habits. Here at Green Sprout, we offer snacks twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, which include organic fruits and vegetables, wholes grains, and legumes. It is our mission to help guide your children into forming a healthy relationship with food and introducing them to new, healthy foods that they may not see at home. Often if a peer is enjoying a vegetable or fruit your child is not familiar with, he or she may be more likely to try it.
We are also very excited to offer opportunities for your child to plant and tend our gardens here at Green Sprout. We have garden beds with vegetables, strawberries, and herbs that your sprout helps grow from the seedling, plant, water and harvest. This process is extremely important in building the understanding of where food comes from and the amount of energy it requires to grow food to support and feed our bodies.
